I didn't see any contact. Anyway, it's not like this is a close game.

Those last 2 pass incompletions were insane. Don't get those against non-Rutgers defenses.

    • Hudson didn't run into the punter. The Zappruder film tells the story. He didn't block it either and the kick did not go down in the stat book as a blocked punt according to the announcers - who generally suck.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

      • I'd like to know what Rutgers is doing in their run game defense - again something in Ash's wheelhouse. Of course, the FOX color guy has no clue.

        • Bad call by the Refs. Bush hit the QB just after he released ball. No way he could have stopped.

          • Rutgers has been "stacking the box" the whole game, from my perspective.

            • Bullshit roughing call.

Bringing down guys generally on the first contact. And the ball carriers have yet to get a yard on their own.

Probably ..... they are also committing a S to a gap and picking the right spot. M tendencies? It's leaving the back end with either a CB or a S alone in coverage. That's what's dictating the passing. It's paying off.

M has beat that sort of run defense before with some creative pay calling that involves the split zone fake of a down G or pin and pull then going outside with the ball. There's insufficient replay video to see if M is doing that.

The TE screen and seam routes have been ok against it but I'd like to see more in the run game. It's pretty vanilla and perhaps by design.

                      • Ruiz may have cost the team a TD on that failed end-around.

Probably Ruiz's guy. That was a sweet play though working off Patterson's zone read threat. Nice counter to that.
