When M wins, at least this season, they are the better team. I don't care about what might have been true in the past. PSU, osu IU and Rutgers will play as well as they can and at this point osu and PSU aren't that good. Too many holes and critical position losses/injuries. IU is a threat on offense but Brown will neutralize it.

Holy frijole! Jeff , you do spend a hell of a lot of time analyzing Michigan football. I look forward to having as much time on my hands some day... :-)

If I'm going to say something here, it better have some substance to back it up. I put a lot of time into my posts. I enjoy doing that and, yes, I do have the time to do it. I also love Xs and O's and the whole study of football game theory. Fascinating stuff and informed by Fancy Stats that do have their place, IMO.

I have been a bit of a military historian as it relates to strategy and tactics on the air, land or sea battlefield. While I was on active duty, I published a number of articles on Airborne Electronic Warfare tactics and defensive Air Combat maneuvering for EW and Attack aircraft. There are a lot of similarities to football. So, this is my passion.

After watching other B10 teams with winning records the last few weeks I just don't see any team beating Michigan as long as they take care of the football.

I'd be feeling that way too but those kind of WTF games usually come from teams playing well. Michigan isn't playing well enough to do that. They are leaving so, so many points on the table. The optimism here is way too much for me at this point.

Buckeyes might figure their issues out before they play M, Penn state is pretty good if their receivers catch the damn ball...

Indiana's offense is fun to watch and hard to defend even if you're ready for them... They'll just get outscored and be Indiana.

I still don't consider OSU to be a 50/50 game yet, but Indiana and Rutgers suck. Penn State has major flaws and we are better.

At any rate, I don't think that we have played a bad overall game since SMU. NW wasn't as close as the score indicates, although that does bring up the issue of leaving too many points on the table. But still we didn't play poorly in that game. I think that we have one more where we genuinely just play like shit because that's football. Hopefully it won't be against PSU or OSU, but it always could.

I have nightmares about the Spartans playing at Rutgers during the 2015 season. That game was a battle and it cost the Spartans for the rest of year. It's good for you guys that Rutgers is a great guest.

I stand corrected, google has adopted the soccer style scheduling of putting the home team first. Which is annoying in soccer as well. It will make it slightly harder. They are playing slightly better than they were at the beginning of the year. Maybe it will be a night game.
