PSU sucks, this will be a walkover. Doctor Blitz won't need to spy, he dials up the blitz and doesn't really play coverage. It's going to be like the rugby scene in Life of Brian.

That is with a schedule that includes Texas State, Kansas, Buffalo, Indiana, Illinois, Maryland, and Northwestern, and an OSU team that is having a bad year running the ball.AAL: KhaDarel Hodges

Haven't read anything that convinces me PSU is going to take this game from M. Nothing statistically suggests PSU will, M's mind set about this game in particular suggests PSU is going to find it hard to make plays ..... and the big plays on McSorely's legs and with his arm are PSU's offense right now (about 57% of it). Then there is the chess game between Franklin and Harbaugh. No contest. If I were PSU's OC knowing that Don Brown has had this game circled for a year would make me worry about McSorely's health. He's already playing on a bum knee. That can't be good.
There are a couple of things that could bite M in the ass. The bye week. I don't like them. Momentum killer. Patterson ...... we know how he has absolutely increased the effectiveness of M's offense. We also know more than we would like to know about things he does to hurt it's scoring efficiency. The combo of Slot receiver KJ Hamler and X receiver Juwan Johnson is a real threat - both are good. Both have dropped their fair share of McSorley DO throws. If that gets cleaned up, there are a couple of TDs there. RB Miles Sanders has potential and he's a receiving threat out of the back field.
Frankly, I don't think these factors will win the game for PSU unless they are magnified beyond that which seems to be established performance norms for each player. Franklin only had a week to prepare. M has had 2. It's unlikely that PSU will throw any plays out there that M's defense and Brown won't be ready for. But PSU will try to go big early. Not letting that happen will go a long way for making this an ugly day for the Nits. Things that might make me look silly: Patterson has a bad day, McSorely and his receivers a good one.
M 38, PSU 17.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
