And why wouldn’t Houston ask for Darnold too? Keeps their options open at 2.

      • Since we're moving on from Stafford, I like the Dorsey hire.

He has a talent for getting quality players.

I hate to say this, but this might be the first time that the Ford family have ever done anything right with regards to running the Detroit Lions.

A shame that we won't know whether all of these changes were worth it for at least 2 years.

        • I think there's some serious overvaluing of Darnold going on.

Not really. I just figure that all the guys in this draft are question marks, anyways, and Darnold would come much cheaper in trade than the 7th pick. IMO Darnold still could be as good as what you'd get at 7

            • I mean, I'm just gonna guess that if you tossed Sam Darnold in there for OSU he would've done ... quite well

Where are we going; and what's up with this hand basket?

                • As if GM's around the league didn't already know that finding a QB is tough, Brady in the Super Bowl just reiterated it's importance. This should bode well for the Lions and strengthen their position even more.

If Stafford had Brady's line in any game, the Lions would have lost that game by 20, at least. If it shows anything, it shows that you need a TEAM, not just a QB.

                    • Bucs would be in contention with almost any Quarterback after adding Gronk, Fournette Wirfs etc. They were in contention with a QB giving games away with picks last year. They just won a game Brady tried hard to give away. QB is important but it's a team sport and you can won with a mediocre quarterback and a great team but you can't win with a mediocre team and a great QB.

Almost anyone would. Which is why a few guys who weren't nfl caliber flunked out from there. Darnold was not ever a high end prospect to me and never should've been picked over Allen or Jackson. That's not hindsight that's the reality of teams being scared of scrambling QB's getting hurt, Not reading through progressions before running or being Innacurate so they passed on better players. Darnold didn't exactly showcase pinpoint accuracy and hasn't in the pros. All 4 of this years prospects are far better than Darnold as prospects and they may flop too.

Bucs were basically the same team last year and missed the playoffs. Add a QB and instant Super Bowl. You don't see the correlation?

I'm just saying that THIS game was NOT an example of Tom Brady making a difference. He very nearly lost that game in the second half, and the Bucs defense stepped up.

He was part of the puzzle. You're saying Adding Wirfs, Winfield Jr, Fournette, Brown and Gronkowski had no effect? Basically the same team...gtfoh.

                              • I saw Dorsey had a draft of Baker/Ward/Chubb in CLE. I’m not a Baker fan, but that’s a pretty awesome haul and a franchise changer.

Hell, we would have taken a Hockensuck Ballsack instead of Ward and Tavai (off the fucking mainland) instead of Chubb.
