Honest Question but other than his name why do people think Penisini was good? We got ran all over with him in there, he doesn't penetrate at a good level. PFF gave him a 41 which is Tavai bad. What am I missing?

Nearly 1/2 the league is at a negative cap number for 2021 as we speak - and 2/3rds of the league have 10 million or less cap space.
Without some serious knife-wielding, the potential suitors in a trade for Stafford is a very small group of teams - unless of course Stafford doesn't care about winning and just wants out of town. The only logical explanation is:
I'm about to die and this is my Jacob's Ladder

On top of that, Detroit fans really get a hard-on for the underdog, and resent talent. If the fanbase got it's way, their teams would be nothing but guys on the league minimum, but play with "grit."

That alone I chalk up to 2-3 wins no matter who the QB is.

There will be plenty of suitors for Stafford, especially since he's got two very affordable years on his contract. Lions on the hook for 19M. New team on the hook for 19M and 22M if the roster bonus part of his contract carries over to the new team. That's chump change in today's QB market where Kirk Cousins costs you 30M and Dak prescott 40M.
Don't be surprised to see Jerry Jones jump into this one, especially since Dak has proven to be hard to sign. They get as good a player at half the cost with Stafford. What does Dallas have in assets for the next three years? Perhaps the Lions end up with the 7th & 10th pick and the red rifle as your bridge QB. Certainly holding 7 & 10 is enough fuel to move up and get Wilson, Fields or Lance. Or you sit and 7 and 10 and draft two really good players .... maybe one of which is the QB who falls. Sometimes the guy who falls (Herbert) is a blessing. I'd be happy with any of Wilson, Lance, Fields and if one of them doesn't fall then you are still getting a great player who was probably worth the 3rd or 4th pick

His salary for '21 is 9.5M with a roster bonus of 10M and workout of 500K.
His salary for '22 is 10M with same roster and workout bonuses.
That's 20M for '21 and 20.5M for '22. Half of what the franchise tag the Cowboys would have to pay for Dak.
The other 19M was the signing bonus which Detroit will have pay, 13M of which counts to this years cap and an additional 6M which immediately accelerates to this years cap when he's traded.
Those are very affordable numbers and perhaps he's willing to sign an extension at team friendly money to get to a potential winner or his favorite childhood dream team ... whomever that was for a a Texas boy.
Forever One!

From the articles written, Stafford hasn't exactly demanded a trade ... they're only gonna trade him if they get value. Of course, that could be posturing just trying to get the best deal and create the best position to trade fromWHO CARES why it says paper jam when there is no paper jam?

And apparently the Lions have obliged. At this point I think it's a 100% certainty that he gets moved one way or the other.AAL: KhaDarel Hodges
