I just don't want them to go all out at 7th overall unless they really love the QB ... do that in the 3rd round if you want to

This is something that needed to happen, but it's not going to make the Lions better. Hopefully, it nets the return that can help them get better.
Stafford is an average QB, odds are they get another average QB and post 5-6 wins - which is about all Stafford could muster this year.

And you clearly have NO idea what an "average" QB looks like, just like all the other haters.

They signed a guy like Chase Daniels because they thought he COULD fill Stafford's shoes in a pinch. They have no clue what a good QB play is and were lucky that Stafford fell in their laps after an 0-16 season.

Lions get 5-6 wins? Bank. Easy money.

You honestly think the Lions are winning 10 games with THAT defense and Mitch Trubisky at QB?
The Lions are going to flirt with 0-16 next year unless they hit a LOT of jackpots in the draft and FA.

You don't, you can't win 6 with someone people are arguing is better than an average QB.

I'm so happy for the Lions and the fans, even you guys that love Stafford and hate me.
I hope that in the next 5 years we can be all singing together and celebrating some sort of Championships.
if he goes out and wins somewhere else I'll be happy for him that he exposed the Lions organization. However I still don't think he's a Super bowl QB.
God bless you all! Love wcfwtf

The ceiling I see in 5 years is a team that's starting to flirt with wild card wins.Last edited by chemiclord; January 23, 2021, 07:37 PM.

Meh, only took Mayhew a year to make the Lions look competent after going 0-16.
- 2008, 0-16.
- 2009 was very terrible.
- 2010, Lions looked fine despite Stafford missing most of the season. 6-10.
- 2011. Made the playoffs!
...
I appreciate Stafford. He was a very good/ good QB. Wish him the best and will definitely be rooting for him to have success with his new team... unless it's the Bears.AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill

Honestly, I could see a big purge of salaries coming. Let most of the FAs walk, cut a number of guys, and pursue a few lower cost guys as replacements later in the offseason. Take your salary cap lumps now to clean up the balance sheet for future years and hopefully get some comp picks.
