A lot of chatter in Detroit now that Stafford may have played his last down of football. Many think he will retire. After 2 broken backs in 6 months and no hope on the horizon I would no blame him. He has had a lot happen in his personal life as well. In the end it will be best for him and the Lions. Once he is gone a full on rebuild would commence. Another talented player wasted by the Lions.

The broken back sounds like it is the same injury as last season. If you break your back the same way in back to back seasons it might be time to think about hanging it up. I would be shocked if he played next week or again this season. Why would detroit risk more damage to him? Personally why would he risk long term damage when they are all but eliminated from playoff contention?

Stafford is fine, but we will never win with him. Get value via trade for him and go the rookie QB route. You can rebuild a lot easier with those rookie QB contracts, rather than Stafford making $30 million.
