This is a cursed team. Whether it's Bobby Layne or old man Ford backdooring his purchase of the team on the very day JFK was killed. Only thing that will lift this curse is the Ford's selling it. Stafford could throw for 6,000 and 50 and it wouldn't matter, they'd still find a way to give away a game that was ripe for the picking.

Pointless.

Stafford failed to stop Carr, Mahomes and Rodgers? Stafford dropped the pass in Logan Thomas' hands? Stafford let the Vikes score 42? with an even average defense this year they are probably 6-2 at worst.
Win or lose there will always be mistakes you can point to with any quarterback. Instances where they failed to make a play or had a bad one. Stafford is no different. He has bad plays. He has many more good ones and consistently puts an awful football team in a position to have a chance to win. More often than not it's the Defense that fails in the close games not Stafford.

What's funny is the constant assurtion that the QB is ultra-important and MS isn't good enough to win.
Yet, MS hangs 30 points on MIN and loses by 12. Matt Moore (who was totally out of football) comes out of retirement and plays on a good Chiefs team with a great playcaller and beats MIN with throwing 1 TD. Lol. Yeah it's all MS's faultTrickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

Lions simply play to the level of their opposition, and try to outdo them in the gaff department. If the Lions had the #1 defense in football they wouldn't be throwing it, they'd be stubbornly trying to create a running game. Instead of scoring 30, they'd be losing 16-13.....

I don't agree with that theory though. It seems like people are letting the coaches and GM off the hook for what they are specifically being paid for. Mr. Rocket Scientist "Because-You-Can-Tell-Because-I-Have-a-Pencil-Behind-My-Ear" Coach should have said, "Naw Darrell. I'm not going out like that. Get my WR's back in there if we're going to pass it."Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. Instead what we are left with is failed attempts at post game rationalizing of a clusterfuck that started when players reported for camp.
