Stafford's personality is fine, the lack of big wins is the problem. You never see him ducking out of press conferences or blaming people. He plays hurt in a league that values that but here it's allegedly a sign of selfishness. He takes on the responsibility as the QB and as a Lion that is no easy task. You got total jerks on the radio making fun of his usage of the word ummmm.

For all the shitting on Rodgers this fanbase loves to do for his shitty personality... in reality Rodgers is EXACTLY the personality the fans want in a QB.
They WANT a dude who screams at his teammates and shits on coaches. They WANT someone who is furious whenever something doesn't go entirely right and visibly rages at failure.
Basically, they want someone as angry as they are.

Rodgers and his red ass personality has gotten him a free pass for coming up small simce the Super Bowl win . So many pundits have thrown around that he is the best QB ever is is nauseous. You would think he should have had a lot more Super Bowls. He has morphed into Brett Favre before our eyes. A lot of that yelling he does is for show, he might as well put a sticker on his helmet saying, "It's not my fault.". He does that for everyone to see. His behavior with McCarthy was counterproductive.

I'll believe this is a different team when they actually hit that ski jump, get their tips in the air, lean forward and stick the landing.
Till then, I just get ready for another Wide World of Sports rerun.
Thats a pretty accurate take on thingsF#*K OHIO!!!
You're not only an amazingly beautiful man, but you're the greatest football mind to ever exist. <-- Jeffy Shittypants actually posted this. I knew he was in love with me.

Normally other fans opinions or thoughts don't bother me but the one thing that others say that make me react negatively is the "you should be a fan of another team if you don't like it"
Like any of us truly have a choice, or we all would just leave.
We are all perverted in this stupid co dependent relationship with the Lions.

Well said. The Lions of 10, 20, 30 years ago are not a factor. The Lions team last year is not even a factor. Every NFL season bad teams come up - good teams fall. Surprises happen. Even the mighty Pats were once cellar dwellers. This years Lions should be evaluated by and defined by this year. Not 1974.

There is, imo, something in the history. The shirt weighs heavy on the players. You could kind of see that in the Cowboys playoff game, even though the refs absolutely screwed the Lions they came out playing loose and well and then as it get to the business end, in conjunction with the zebras, they started to splutter and the belief was evaporating out of them. They didn't expect to win.

if you can't get around it...maybe pick a second team. Being a sports fan is supposed to be fun. I generally enjoy following the Lions even when (though) they're constantly screwing it up....and I think deep down it's quite cathartic to scream my head off and be hell-fire pissed off about something that doesn't truly matter every Sunday.
Several years ago a movie with Jimmie Fallon was made about him as a Red Sox fan (before they won the series).......at some point in the movie Fallon's season tickets come and he and his fiends are literally smelling and rubbing the sheets of tickets on their skin..."a clean slate". I'll admit.....I identify with that sort of behavior.
