James Robert needs to be shown the door in the offseason. No point in doing it now because there's no one else that can take over midseason.
    F#*K OHIO!!!

You're not only an amazingly beautiful man, but you're the greatest football mind to ever exist. <-- Jeffy Shittypants actually posted this. I knew he was in love with me.

PP should find the door on the way out with Cooter. They can both gtfo.

Would we notice the difference if no one replaced him for the rest of the season?

        • POD comment sections show a serious football ignorance that rivals, if not surpasses the MLIVE crowd.

Effin high level dunce homerism for all things Lions related. Specially when it involves Statford.

I have to stop reading after a short while because I can't take their (as a whole audience) blatant idiocy very long.

          Thank you DetroitLionsForum.com!

Just hoping they kinda shift their priorities a little.
I don't disagree ... I argued with NHBrooklyn for weeks about drafting a G high in the first round (he wanted one in a decade player Chance Womack) and I was on the Ansah or Milliner train. The Lions got that pick right.

Ideally you draft difference makers in the first round and develop a player into a high level G, C or DT.

I'd really really be curious to view the draft board last year ... Where did Ragnow sit on their boards when say pick #16 rolled around? How did they have the following guys rated?

            Tremaine Edwards, LB - Bills
            Derwin James, DB - Chargers
            Jaire Alexander, DB - Packers
            Leighton VanderEsch, LB - Cowboys.

I would hope that at least 3 if not all 4 of those guys would have been the pick. When the Cowboys were on the clock I had some nervous trepidation and excitement about LVE. I was nervous he was the pick because of the bust potential but excited because of his potential ... to bad we'll never know if they pass or not, but damn he looks good in Dallas.

            • Stafford now has less touchdowns for the year than Baker Mayfield in his rookie year that missed the first few games of the Browns season.

I bet he would still be playing. Laying out for 90% of Staffords poorly thrown balls took a hell of a toll.

                    • Dude, Medicore Matty isn't a horrible QB, he's just not good enough to get the team over the top, he's Medicore. Not being able to throw an accurate deep ball is pretty average in the NFL.

                      • You're right. Trent Dilfer can get it done with a proper team.

Now.... I know it's crazy, but hear me out.... maybe the Lions have other problems that warrant discussion.

They do, but it doesn't matter if you fix those problems if you have a QB who can't make plays to win big games. Even Trent Dilfer had to make plays in order for Baltimore to win a Super Bowl.

Fact - In Baltimore's playoff run to win the Super bowl Dilfer made multiple plays that directly led to Baltimore's wins.

First playoff game against Denver, Trent Dilfer completed passes of 15, 12 and 9 yards on their first scoring drive, on their second scoring drive Dilfer threw a 58 yard TD pass.

Second playoff game against Tennessee. First scoring drive, Trent Dilfer completed a 56 pass to the one yard line, they score a TD on a one yard drive to tie the game. In this game Dilfer didn't have to do anything else because Baltimore blocked a field goal and returned it for a TD and returned an interception for a TD.

Third playoff game against Oakland. First Ravens scoring drive - Dilfer threw a 96 yard TD pass - Baltimore never looked back.

Super Bowl against New York Giants - First scoring drive Dilfer throws a 38 yard TD pass, 2nd scoring drive, Dilfer completes a 44 tard passing puttung them in field goal position.

In every single playoff game that year Trent Dilfer made a play or plays that put Baltimore in the lead first in every game - every game Now compare that to Medicore Matty, in the last playoff game Detroit played. Medicore Matty couldn't get the offense inside the fucking 35 yard line even though that game was very winnable until Seattle scored two TDs in the fourth quarter.

Oh and if a "proper team" can get it done with a QB like Dilfer, why did Baltimore move from Dilfer and Tony Banks, and why did that "proper team" never made it back to the Super Bowl until they had a QB who made plays to win games in the Playoffs (including 3 TD passes in both the AFC Championship game and the Super Bowl)?
