By and large the most dominant QBs in the NFL were those three. If they had been in the NFC, they would have represented the NFC at about the same numbers.

But since you brought up, look at the NFC, you'll by and large the see the same QBs making the playoffs year in and year out - they then battle between themselves to rise to the super bowl. During this period, there has been no truly dominant QBs, compared to each other, rise above the rest of the few handful. So no you didn't see just two or three QBs dominate the NFC played like you saw in the AFC, but you did see a handful of NFC QBs, dominate the NFC and routinely make the playoffs.

The most dominant QB in the NFC is Rodgers, GB has missed the playoff just once since he became their QB. The next has probably been wilson, Seattle has missed just one Playoffs.

    • The conversation and supporting argument wasn't the playoffs it was the SuperBowl. Stop trying to change the discussion to meet your agenda

I gave you a well thought out rational as to WHY you don't see the same domination at the SUPER BOWL level in the NFC - I did not change the discussion.

BTW, you can't look back for 17 in the NFC and see the same few QBs because the current NFC QBs don't go back that long in the NFC. But you can look back over the last six or seven years - during that period you see the same three QBs in the playoffs. Rodgers, Wilson and Newton

        • Rodgers is valid.. Without him they're nothing

Wilson is good but he's always been propped up by an amazing defense and beast mode running game. Wilson can't sustain a team by himself

Newton is either amazing or shit for brains but they've had some nice defenses and running games as well.

If you're comparing the Lions situation to anyone the Saints are the way to go. They're a pass happy team with a great QB but they also have a damned good coach too. Hopefully this year the Lions finally have that.

Wilson has had 4 different leading rushers over the last for year - last year he was the leading rusher for the Seahawks with 586 yards. In 2016 their leading rusher had a whopping 469 yards.

Oh and 2 out of the last six years, Newton was the Panthers leading rusher. But you're right, Carolina only goes as far as Cam takes them - when he's on they are unbeatable, when he's off........Oh and with the exception of one year, their defense has been bad to mediocre

And I'm not trying to compare anybody to Detroit - the discussion is that a QB is a difference maker, and there's tons of evidence to show that - in addition just look at last year. GB was 4-1 when Rodgers went down, did the TEAM forget how to play football when he got hurt. SF was 1-10 whne they inserted Garoppolo to be the started and became unbeatable. Did the TEAM all of a sudden become world class players? No, the QB made the difference.

And the Saints were sh!t in '16. In '17 they dramatically improved their running game and D. They were one miracle play from getting to the NFC championship game.
Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

Just as well as Statford, employed and getting paid. Which was my point all along about it not being a big deal if you had one or the other. Both have won zero but Bradford has had how many teams seek his services by trade? Big contract or not, starter or not?

As far as I know, no ones called for Statford because they just have to have him at any cost.

                • I am looking forward to this year because I am intrigued to see if defense xN get better as well as running game.
as far as Stafford is concerned, his play can go from great to inconsistent, especially against the better defenses. But because of how I PERSONALLY see things I also get out off by his lack of wanting to be more aggressive in his style of leadership. I call it the Obama approach, lead from behind. As a qb this is not what I want or like from that position.
But I know this is my problem, not other fans who are just frustrated with his play.
So I figure with real leadership by Patricia and Quinn it will work itself out in the next few years. They will win and coach will be retained or either Patricia or stafford will be gone. That's my opinion, hate me if you want for it

Bradford has never beaten Stafford. Bradford has never sniffed the playoffs. Bradford has never sniffed 4000 yards and he can barely throw 20 TDs in a season. 4000 yards and 20 TDs is a down year for Stafford.

                    Career records:

                    Stafford
                    60-65
                    .480

                    Bradford
                    34-45-1
                    .431

You seem to imply that Bradford is a more desired commodity because he's been shipped around several times. By that logic, guys like Brady and Rodgers have little to no value. For those of us in reality, no one picks up the phone for Brady or Rodgers because they know they'd have to give their left nut just to kick the tires.

There are QB echelons in the NFL. I don't know how many echelons there are in between Stafford and Bradford, but Stafford's clearly higher.
"Yeah, we just... we don't want them to go. So that's our motivation."

So in other words they are both losers, one is just a slightly better loser.
