I rolled my eyes when I first saw that article and didn't bother reading it. Since Cat posted it I decided to take the time to check it out.

He makes some good points about environment and what they inherited as far as teams. The only thing he forgot was that Favre didn't share shit for info with A Rodgers. Favre didn't make his life easy because he saw the writing on the wall

When it came to raw physical talent, Stafford was and is nigh peerless. There were things he could (and can) do with the football that 95% of QBs in the league could only dream of doing.

Stafford's question mark, and where Rodgers was superior was the "football IQ" portion of the position. Where Rodgers could always find the open man at any given time, Stafford would force things because he could, and as a result, Stafford could have some absolutely brutal stretches whenever he was a little off.

Then he got Lombardi who decided the answer to Stafford's gunslinging was to handcuff him.

Now, we're seeing Stafford become the QB that he could always be. And ya know what? That's every bit Rodgers's equal, if not a little better... because it's possible we haven't seen Stafford's ceiling yet.

Aaron Rodgers started to turn it on at about the age Stafford is now. One of the problems all NFL QBs is teams have a lack of patience. Quarterbacking a team in your early 20's is incredibly hard. Rodgers and Favre didn't get along but the best thing for Rodgers was he didn't start taking meaningful snaps until age 25.
