    Indeed
WHO CARES why it says paper jam when there is no paper jam?

      They aren't the '76 Bucs.....
Did... did you watch ANY of the Lions games last year? Fuck, that defense ASPIRES to be expansion team level. It's obvious you are so blinded by your Stafford hate that you literally can't see anything else.

They have two guys on defense worth a shot. On offense they have two good lineman, a tight end and a promising running back. They don't have much.

Okwara... and I'm struggling to think of the second name. Unless you're going to give Okudah the benefit of the doubt as a rookie corner.

            Agreed

I mean I hope he's right, but I doubt it. The team is every bit as Marinelli bad, but the big problem is Mayhew had the #1 pick and was fortunate to get Stafford. They have the 7th pick and at best they will get the 4th rated QB.

This will be aot more than a retooling they were talking about.

            • And barring a miracle they will either have a rookie QB or journeyman next year helming things.

              • They really don't have a lot. On offense, I'd say Decker, Jackson, Ragnow (potentially Crosby and Stenberg), Swift, Cephus, Hock ... defense Okudah, Oruwariye, Okwara(s?) are solid future bets ... Collins, Flowers, Walker, Hand are OK ... Penisini, Ragland decent enough to be serviceable

                • They need to sell tickets if fans are back after missing out this season. There will be a rookie for them to watch. Chase Daniel or Tyrol Taylor don't sell tickets

                  • Chemo, we are all getting old. How many more years you have left.
if you don't think they can win in 5 years you think you are going to live to 100.
be real, we all need to hope this new front office had a sense of urgency.
This group of people here are not gonna live forever.

That is going to happen league wide - teams are going to have to do that out of necessity.
Nearly 1/2 the league is at a negative cap number for 2021 as we speak - and 2/3rds of the league have 10 million or less cap space.
Without some serious knife-wielding, the potential suitors in a trade for Stafford is a very small group of teams - unless of course Stafford doesn't care about winning and just wants out of town.

If lifespan was a concern of any of ours, we would've forgotten about the Lions 20 years ago

The most important thing they have is that Patricia is out of town.
That alone I chalk up to 2-3 wins no matter who the QB is.
                          Guy was a buffoon.

Look, we've all been on this roller-coaster trip for at least 20-30 years, and us older guys 40+.
Lions get a weak schedule, get an upgrade in the coaching department and swap an "overhyped" QB for a solid average QB and look like they didn't miss a beat. They'll be right in the 5-7 win area for 2021.

I'll say this though, 2021 is the PERFECT STORM if a team wants to overhaul - because the market is going to be flooded with players who simply aren't going to get the deals they'd normally get. It's going to be a season rebuilders (or "retoolers" if that offends people) dream about.

If I was at all driven by hope, I'd have cut bait and followed the Colts when I had the chance and lived 2 miles from Lucas Oil Field.

What I hope means less than fuck all, and I can see quite clearly that Holmes and Campbell have a cupboard that is nigh empty.

                            • A cheap look at Winston is possible, too. Barely 27, cheap UFA.

If anybody would know how he looked last year, it'd be Dan Campbell and Aaron Glenn

There's no "weak schedule" to lean on any more. TWO games are decided by last year's standings.
