I was listening to NFL Radio yesterday and they had a guy come on and talk about the jets and Fitzpatrick. The response from I think it was Matt Tucker was just perfect and applies to everyone who thinks change for change's sake is better than continuing with what you have even if that change is a huge negative.
So the Jets fan states that Fitz isn't all he thinks he is. Isn't a Franchise QB. If he doesn't want to take the current deal. Cut him and Revis, use this year as cap cleaning year and look for that Franchise QB next season and ride out this one with Geno. That as a paying Jets fan (which is kind of annoying when people say that the NFL makes more money off of non-paying fans), he would be fine losing this season to be in a better spot financially and with a chance to get a new QB next season.
Matt was short and simple and basically said okay so if you're the GM and you think this is the best option and you know you are going to lose this season. So next season you either use one of the two QB's (he named them I forgot them) behind Geno next year or you are drafting a new QB at the top of the draft. Chances are they aren't going to be very good. Now you had another bad season and you are fired. How did that help the team?
It was just so perfect and applies here so so so much.
