  • The biggest defensive liability they have is defending 3 pointers. They also have a big defensive liability whenever they face Spencer Dinwiddie. That guy kills them no matter what uniform he is wearing.

    • And the Pistons hit the 40-win mark.

      That's wild to think about.

      • It was a good win considering Cunningham and Hardaway were out today. Holland and Sasser really stepped up.

I think most of us thought they were better than the 14 win team that Monty went thru the motions with last year, but 40 wins was way beyond expectations for this year...I thought maybe 30 wins would be a pretty good season...i think even vegas had the over under at 28 wins or so.

Looking forward to seeing his (continued) development over the next couple of seasons. He’s got kind of throw back mentality that you can’t teach - hard nosed and unselfish. Really an ideal fit as a Piston.

              • Nice article on the Pistons in TheRinger -- including a bunch of fun highlights:
The Pistons were historically bad last season. Now they’re miraculously playoff bound. How did they pull off the NBA’s biggest turnaround in years?

                • Pistons guaranteed to have at least a .500 season after tonight's win.

                  • Good night for the Pistons in the standings -- Bucks and Pacers both lost. Pistons just passed the Bucks and the Bucks are without Lillard indefinitely because of his unfortunate blood clot.

                    • I kinda sorta wanted the Pistons to stay at #6, simply because I like their matchup against the Knicks better than the Pacers or the Bucks, but... it is what it is, I guess.

                      • Bucks without Dame is a different animal though.

                        • It's highly improbable at this point to matchup with the Bucks.

                          • True, Knicks or Indy most likely on tap.

The Pacers are going to be tough for anybody and they are 3-1 vs the Pistons this year, including 2 straight wins after the Pistons found their stride in 2025. But that would be hell of a chippy series and be fun for a budding re-up on the old rivalry.

                            • Very nice win tonight -- beating up the Cavaliers without Cade or Tobias. Shroder with nearly his first triple-double 17-10-7. Hardaway on fire 7-11 from 3 and 32 points.

I think Cade has a calf contusion from the Dallas game, so I don't think it's too serious.

                              • Mitchell was NBA Jam hot in the 4th. The Cavs were weirdly going hard for the game that was pretty lost in the third in a scheduling loss. It almost worked.

Schröeder has been a great addition.
