After about 6 hours of thinking about it and listening to a few podcasts, I still wouldn't do that trade but I'm a little more bullish on the Mavericks for this season. They can bully OKC now, but right now it's just a theory. They should be awesome defensively. It's just a massive risk if you don't have success in a 2 to 3 year window.

I'm not necessarily against the idea of moving Doncic. Their reasons are ridiculous, but hey... if you don't like how a guy does his conditioning, and he's never going to change it, I can see why you'd just cut bait.
But to not do any due diligence to see what the best deal you could get is? That moves this trade from simply bad to absolutely absurd.

Dallas went to the finals last year. Is there a world where they do better than that this year? Doncic destroyed the best defensive team since the Pistons heyday last year in the playoffs.
This trade only comes off looking good for Dallas if they go on heater the next couple of years and somehow get a title.

The interesting question I have about the Pistons is how good can Ausar Thompson be? His brother is thriving in Houston to the point where he is near untouchable. Ausar had a rough year last year and because of that blood clot issue is still not up to full game conditioning this year like he was last year. It seems like he can take the same jump.

Your opponent being on pace to score 200 until late in the second quarter is also not exactly ideal.Last edited by chemiclord; Yesterday, 06:50 PM.
