  • The Pistons kicked the crap out of the Timberwolves to get to 17-18. Ant had 53 and Cade had 40. Ant got the bulk of the points from threes. The Pistons killed Minnesota in the paint.

The Pistons are 9-6 in games Ausar Thompson has played.

      • I went to the game last night and saw the Pistons achieve their first 4-game winning streak since 2019. They started off slowly, then had a really rough first half of the 2nd quarter where they got down by as much as 22. Then Cade, Holland and Hardaway fueled a small run to close the gap to 9 by halftime. Cade had a great start to the 3rd and it became a real game. Some big buckets from Hardaway and Duren, and Beasley making a key 3 after going 0-8 from behind the stripe helped get us over the top. Cade finished with 32/6/9 and Hardaway had his Pistons-high of 26 points on 10-15 FG 6-9 3-PT.

Portland didn't have Jerami Grant and we were missing Ausar (and Ivey, obviously). I was looking forward to seeing both play but I'll take a hard-fought W.

        • Wow. Are the Pistons actually a .500 team?

          • The funny thing about this team is people will say Cade has taken a next step. He is definitely improving on last season but this was basically the guy last season but he didn't have shooters to pass it to. All of the things the diehard Piston fans were complaining about with lineups and roster construction last season were addressed in the off-season and now they are OK. Beasley has been the one true steal of an addition to the point where they may have difficulty retaining him. THJ was a salary dump and they probably overpaid Harris. But those three vets have helped a lot.

For them to keep this up all season, they would need to beat all of the teams they play with a bad record. The Ivey injury came at a soft time in their schedule so it hasn't hurt them in the win column but the schedule will toughen up later on. The encouraging sign is they have been competitive in the losses for the most part.

                    • Nope,.really feeling the loss of Ivey for the first time. They just don't have an answer offensively when Cade is out.

                      • They've made it kinda interesting in the final minutes at least.
