  • But Shaq was just so awesome with the Suns.. or the Celtics... or the Cavs. I mean he was the focal point of those teams right?
    F#*K OHIO!!!

You're not only an amazingly beautiful man, but you're the greatest football mind to ever exist. <-- Jeffy Shittypants actually posted this. I knew he was in love with me.

And, oh yeah, Kareem was and is the best. Ever
You are not seriously comparing Horace Grant to Shaq are you? I am not a MJ fan but with Phil as the coach it would have worked.
2012 Detroit Lions Draft: 1) Cordy Glenn G , 2) Brandon Taylor S, 3) Sean Spence olb, 4) Joe Adams WR/KR, 5) Matt McCants OT, 7a) B.J. Coleman QB 7b) Kewshan Martin WR

      • Shaq was the focal point of 4 championship teams, not many can say that. He was the bus driver and Kobe wasn't, that's why we can celebrate the 2004 gentleman's sweep of the Lakers! As dominant as he was against the Pistons it could have been worse but Kobe was playing hero ball.

His last years were not great, his body broke down as most 7 footers do. That's why Kareem might be the greatest, the dude was fucking phoenomenal at age 38 in the 1986 finals.

Kobe was great, but when he won the power struggle in LA, the franchise was rudderless until they got Gasol. Also, he was piling up points on some bad teams by the end of his career.

        • Shaq was legit one of the most dominant players of all time for sure but he's not winning any rings without a perimeter player. He won his rings with 2 HoF players as his sidekicks so yes Kobe needed Gasol as well. That's not a revelation

          • and I'm not some kind of Kobe super fan. I just think its absolutely insane reading on here people saying that they wouldn't ever want Kobe on their team. That's completely bs as he's one of the top 10 best NBA players of all time. Generational talent does get used too much with draft picks these days but Kobe was generational

            • You said Kobe was twice the player Shaq was, that was clearly ridiculous but not surprising considering how much you don't know about Kareem.

Shaq drove the bus, not Kobe. Nobody wins a title by themselves.

One of the top 10? At his position. Sure.

                All time? No.

Kobe did not change the way the game was played.

In fact can think of 10 players off the top of my head that I would want over Kobe.

                Bill Russell
                Wilt Chamberlain
                Kareem

                L James
                Magic Johnson
                Shaq
                Larry Bird

                • Kobe is an all timer but there are a lot more than 10 all time players. If you get 5 rings, you are in the discussion.

It's hard to argue with that list. Of course you could slot Kobe anywhere in that list besides above MJ, LeBron, Magic and Bird IMO.

Fair enough about the twice the player comment but Shaq also got away with murder bodying people up and couldn't shoot a FT to save his life. What would have happened if hack a Shaq was implemented much sooner?

F Kareem! I don't even like to mention that shit bags name. Ever. That phantom Bill Laimbeer foul cost us a championship.

                      • When a guy has 6 MVPS and 6 rings, he is in the discussion. I think your problem with Kareem is you don't know much more about Kareem other than his last couple years.

Can you imagine a team with MJ AND Shaq on it, especially when they had Rodman to do all the dirty work. That team very well might have been a GOAT team.

Refs put another game into their hands and changed the outcome

I blame the refs as well but Kareem was holding the ball. Its on him in my book
