  • I kinda hope he has a "Trayvon Walker" type ascension and someone else drops.
Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

    • The only someone else is Ivey. The forwards will be long gone as they all have needs for the front court ahead of us. I’m ok with that

        • Sharpe is a guy you might take a gamble on with a second lottery pick.
2012 Detroit Lions Draft: 1) Cordy Glenn G , 2) Brandon Taylor S, 3) Sean Spence olb, 4) Joe Adams WR/KR, 5) Matt McCants OT, 7a) B.J. Coleman QB 7b) Kewshan Martin WR

          • If you think he's the guy, it doesn't matter how many lottery picks you have, but you have to really do your homework.

            • It's so much easier to miss in the NBA draft. A lot more projection then production. It used to be a lot easier.

Well they used to play longer in college and it was most likely easier to get a feel for the player...Now you have to judge on one year of college (if that) on players that are 18-20 years old (some older).......I look at someone like Sharpe and wonder is he the next Kobe Bryant or is he going to be a bust? How do you tell when there is not that much tape on the guy other than his vertical leaping ability?

                • That’s a valid point about college careers.

Kobe, LBJ, Garnett.. those are some or the greatest of all time. I’d prob lean somewhere towards the JR Smith plus reference. I’d take a chance on him

                  • Curry was amazing last night.

Wiggins' transformation in Golden State has been amazing.

In regards to the Pistons and Sharpe, he have the talent but the gestation between AAU hero ball player and high tier NBA star might be as long as what Wiggins went through and is heavily dependent on the organization. If you are going to draft him you have to know he has an amazing work ethic.

                      • I watched a couple of videos of Shaedon Sharpe in high school....I dont think I ever saw him make a jump shot? Every shot was either a 3 or a dunk...I guess that is the modern player in a nutshell.

3's are jump shots haha. He does have a good amount of mid range highlights tho

Not that I’m too excited about the draft with the NBA Finals still up in the air.

Ivey’s burst/ acceleration is so elite… he hasn’t caught up to that trait when it comes to his handles.

I don’t find it to be a big deal right now because that can be improved in the NBA. If John Beilein is good at his job with the Pistons… he could help Ivey in his weak spots. Fundamentals and shooting.

Watching the NBA playoffs… you see a team like Boston make it this far with their three best players (Tatum, Brown, Smart) coughing the ball up on a consistent basis. Poor handles, fundamentals, and such.

                            • I just get the feeling Ivey won't be there when the Pistons pick.....Sacramento has a history of doing the unorthodox though, so there is a chance.....

                              • If Boston loses this series it is because of the bad handles. Their 3 point shooting and amazing defense has covered up their bad ball handling since the Milwaukee series.
