  • If I'm drafting a 7 footer in the NBA, I would rather him be skinny. It isn't the 90s anymore. The less weight the better, big guys start breaking down with more weight.

I'm not saying he is Durant, but a big criticism on Durant was his weight and his weakness on the strength tests. He hasn't put on any weight, maybe he passes the bench press test now but he couldn't then. It hasn't stopped him from scoring.

I’ve seen him block shots, grab the ball and go coast to coast while dribbling behind his back. All fluid motion. He can shoot it from anywhere. Plus, he plays hard and is tough.

You have to get over the weight and focus on what he can do with that length. He’s like a faster Porzingis with handle and ability to drive by people out to the 3 line.

He’s a freak and with his skill level will translate with zero doubts to the NBA. He’s #1 all day.

I’m not impressed by him. Aaron Gordon? Carlos Boozer? Blake without the freak AA? Jabari Parker? Michael Beasley?

I’ve seen this guy before and he’s somewhere in those comps.

Oh yeah. Thanks for the scouting report. I feel almost like Gym Schwortz watching Travis highlights.
Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

        • Holmgren has a definite set of amazing skills in college but he’ll take a beating in the NBA. His frame will never bulk up and he’s slow as f.

          I wouldn’t draft him #1 overall.

          • Id take Jabari Smith any day of the week over Holmgren. This kid could be the top pick.

            • I haven't seen enough of any of the top three guys to have an opinion on who to take, I just know anyone worrying about somebody getting physically worn down in the NBA is relying on memories of the mid-2000s. It isn't the same game, there are like 3 players in the NBA that rely on the post up and it is standard to see shrimps playing the 5.

              • The slow part is the troubling thing but that may be his own opinion.

                • He has slow foot speed and that sticks out when he handles the ball, but he's a seven footer handling the ball on drives to the basket. To me, you have to try an see if you can project him to play in the high post like Jokic does. Jokic is slow, but he gets to his spots but he may be the best passer in the NBA and he can hit threes. Defensively it seems like he should be able to hold his own. There's a lot of season and it's hard to project him based on the college stuff because he isn't the focal point of Gonzaga like the article details.
The Gonzaga big man has struggled, but still shows promise

                  • He handles the ball like no other 7 ft'er that I've ever seen but his frame won't ever make him a big dude. He's Shawn Bradley with handles to me. If the Stones drafted him I'd drink the Kool Aid but I'd prefer Jabari Smith.

The more I watch Smith the more I see the #1 pick in the draft.

Glen Rice was like that when he was younger. But he was always tough and could shoot. I'm not too worried. He can get into a lifting program too.

I don’t doubt that he can put on some weight but he’s a lean lanky guy. He’s never going to carry muscle mass. He doesn’t have that body type.

I just don’t see the athleticism or shooting stroke to be a star. Don’t get me wrong, he’s not a scrub. He has some of the best handles on a 7 ft’er ive ever seen, he can pass the ball really well and he can block shots. I wouldn’t be pissed at the pick

                          • The Pistons traded for Bol Bol. They gave up a bag of peanuts and a 2nd rounder. I think its a great move as I was hoping they'd find a way to draft him.

                            Safe and solid trade IMO

                            • They need more/better bigs. Not much of a Stewart fan. I hope they draft a 4/5 3&D player with the high 1st we should get.
