  • The Bucks played so we'll in the 1st quarter and it was negated by all of those Phoenix threes.

If I had the #1 pick, I would pick Cunningham, but I think it is close.

Close? What’s on the other side of the deal if you don’t pick Cade?

There is certainly merit to seeing Green play as well as he did against a much higher level of competition than Cunningham ever faced in the NCAA. So that's one guy who ALSO stands out.

        • Exactly right, Green is going to score in bunches and he played against much harder competition.

Cunningham isn't a clear cut number 1 guy like Lebron, Duncan, Shaq, Zion. He is the highest rated of about 5-6 players. It depends on what you want and I have no confidence anyone's ability in here to accurate project any of these guys no matter how grainy videos you watch. I would still take Cunningham, but I certainly don't have the conviction that Jad is showing towards the guy.

              • Nick Stauskas is also a big time player in the G League, next thing Jad is going to claim was he was better as an amateur at Michigan playing against future insurance salesman.

                • I don't see what's hard to accept here.

The talent level of the G-league is going to be higher than the NCAA, if for no reason than it's a collection of (a) younger players who aren't quite ready for the pro game but excelled at the college ranks, (b) people with enough talent that the NBA decided didn't need to spend one year in the college ranks, or (c) NBA veterans trying to earn a roster spot.

Any player in those three groups is going to be better than all but a select handful of guys currently at the NCAA level.

                  • It's all about nostalgia for college basketball and maybe for some people a lack of basketball literacy. The kind of people who claim they play better defense in college than the pros. College Basketball is overcoached and overofficated that has a nice 3 week tournament.

                    • People don’t understand just how good the top 500-1500 hoops players in the world are. They are elite. The G League is full of those. Jdam clearly doesn’t catch the Ignite games on ESPN2 in SA.

                      • Jalen Green and Cade Cunningham were the best players in the country coming out of high school. They went their separate ways.

I CURRENTLY think college hoops is better because 95 of the other top 100 recruits in the country went to college ball where they can be a star at the next level and develop.

Once the the G league starts luring those too recruits because of money the tides will change and it’ll will be the premier choice by far. Until then you’re watching Henry Ellenson, Amir Johnson (lol, seriously) and the other scrubs that can’t crack an NBA squad.

Were you drunk when you typed that? No kidding, you can say that about any professional sport but right now out of the first round picks 80-90% come from college ball. It’s going to change as they’re offer LSU / SEC money to the kids. 500k is a nice chunk of change

                          • ja, 2021 Amir Johnson would probably average 30 and 20 in the NCAA ... I hope you know that

The G league is way better overall. The top 1-5% (one to five percent, not 15 percent) of college players are better, but pro hoops weeds out the bad players ... and the ones that made the G league will have all gotten better since college, too. Way, way better competition in the G league

I like watching the college game more than the NBA. The NBA regular season is much worse than the college regular season. Conference championships make a difference.

Most NBA games aren't worth watching until there are about 6 minutes left in the game and then you have to suffer through the last two minutes that takes 20 minutes to play. The NBA is like watching really good YMCA ball for most of the game until they turn it up at the end. Obviously the playoffs are different in that regard.

Of course, the college game is suffering through tedious finishes too. Too many time outs allowed in both games and replay is ridiculous. Neither will change, but they should.

There is no doubt the talent is better in the NBA and the G league, but I like the college game better.

                              YMMV
I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

                              • Yeah people say that YMCA ball thing a lot, I think it is just better offense. The college game has not evolved offensively, it's really bad. Defense in the NBA is just so much harder, you have to expend so much more energy in the NBA. It really isn't even close.
