  • Yeah they lost in the second round, they got there by mortgaging their future to get Tobias Harris and swinging a trade for Jimmy Butler, who was their best player last year. Now he is gone. Both trades were really not "The Process" related at all. None of the four teams ahead of them did anything like The Process.

They are currently 5th in the East. The guy with the most impact came with their first high pick with Joel Embiid. The only the fruit of the process was Ben Simmons and its unclear if they could ever play together, Simmons can't shoot and Embiid is a hothead in the wrong era. Jahlil Okafor and Markelle Fulz did nothing for them. Any notion of them being a threat is because they have spent big now and are locked into to that weird big-heavy lineup.

Um ok yeah Simmons and Embiid have nothing to do with their success. Got it

      • Yeah they had something to do with it, but they aren't true contenders and without Harris and Butler do they get out of the first round. Plus you didn't need "The Process" to get Embiid, he was their first high pick. They lost in the second round to a team who didn't ever tank. The Raptors lost their best player this year, they have been talking total rebuild for years but they stayed the course and are second in the East. Why does Hinke's plan make total sense compared to the plans of Ujiri, Riley, Ainge and ***checks notes*** Jon Horst.

The 76ers and The Process advocates do a lot of talking and they don't have a lot to show for that braggadoccio.

        • They were a triple donk away from the conference finals.

          • And they didn't get there and now they are 5th. They were in the conference finals shortly before they started The Process. Basically you are giving them a participation trophy.

            • Uh, no. That's wrong. The last time they made the conference finals was when they had AI/Mutombo. Long before the process.

              • Philly has serious offensive issues. I don't like Brown as a coach. He doesn't get players good shots.

That team is still scary, though. They have so much size/length on the defensive end. The game always slows down in the playoffs. Defense and rebounding and they have it in spades. I would like Embiid to be a true inside force, but he shoots too many 3's. The talent is there for them to make a run.

                • 5th place teams seldom make runs.

                  • Neither do false conference final teams.

                    • The Bucks are kicking the crap out of The Process.

It helped that the Pistons handed them their second best player as a throw in

                        • Ya know what kinda blows my mind?

The Warriors went from trash, to five straight Finals (and three championships), and are now beating the Pistons to the bottom of the trash bin... in the same amount of time it has taken the Pistons to go from mediocre to trash.

That ... would be what happens when all your best players leave or get hurt
