  • Yes, we get that KCP has been good to great on defense.

The question was would he be able to be more than a defensive specialist at the time that the Pistons DESPERATELY needed a legitimate Point Guard (a concern that had been remedied quickly after the draft).

I'm not sure why you're so hellbent on espousing the virtues and value of a player that isn't under any debate at this point.

I had two points, both perfectly valid -
        • KCP is moving from solid on defense (accepted) to great on defense (not obvious to people that don't watch every game).
        • Defense is under appreciated (this has been true forever).

        • I think if his value were as significant as Bowen's was to the Spurs it would be ok. But he's not on that level, at least yet. I think he does bring value, and as Detroit continues to build their team, ultimately it will be as more of a specialist off of the bench. I'm hoping SVG looks to upgrade. But it all takes time. This coming off season could be huge.

          • Bruce Bowen knew enough about his limitations to not jack up 12 shots per game, at least half of which have no chance of going in.

Not by year three he didn't. He was a fringe NBA player with a FG% of .280

              • SI giving some love to Valentine for player of the year. Again he's only going to go up those draft boards.

That said, I think DV is in a class of his own because of his play making abilities. He's averaging 8.6 assists a game so far this season (which is a shit ton for college hoops). And a 4 to 1 assist to TO ratio. Only one player has more assists per game in all of college basketball.

Those draft sites are probably out dated. You'll see Valentine shoot up those boards soon enough. Also consider Valentine is going to be on TV a ton and probably play deep into March for even more exposure.
That mock draft was from the same day I posted it. We'll see where he's at when Draft Express updates theirs. I think they're the most accurate of the bunch.

                  • Speak of the devil. DX updated theirs yesterday. Valentine has jumped up to #16, above Levert and right into a slot the Pistons might find themselves.

                        • Stanley Johnson could have cost us the game last night because he didn't have his shirt tucked in.

Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

Its wierd though sometimes he just didn't seem interested...Last 2 games he had 2 points and 5 points in the first half with three of those being a half court prayer at the buzzer.....Also the foul shooting has got to improve....His misses are a major liability.....You cant give away 5-10 points at the free throw line every game.

                              • The whole team has to improve their free throw shooting. It seems poor all around.
