No one cares if point guard is a shitty rebounder. Centers aren't expected to run an offense. For some reason if your role is a defensive stopper you still need to be able to shoot free throws? No.

New rule, can't foul bad FT shooters. If they are dunking, let them dunk. Also, PGs can't rebound, must let ball sit on court until Center picks it up and then after he picks it up, must let him dunk.

Did you eat paint chips as a kid? Your ideas get pregressively dumber. It's like your takes on the lions, but in slow motion.

If you're attempting to score then yeah, you better be prepared to be sent to the FT line. If you're not in the game for that reason, that shouldn't be in your job description.

Change the rule so that intentional non-BB plays aren't rewarded.

          Signed, many millions of fans.
If I remember correctly, there used to be an additional penalty for "intentional fouls." Something like two shots AND possession. It was dropped because it was causing more controversy than anything (determining an intentional foul on a fast break was a bitch).

          • Is there a rule about eating paint chips into adulthood? Like you can't buy Count Chocula or Frankenberry cereal after you are married. This world is BULLSHIT. I hate everyone.
Where are we going; and what's up with this hand basket?

              Rules are all arbitrary.

              The game evolves.

Nobody wants to watch boring, free throw filled games. Change the rule. Pretty simple.

It's the same reason the NFL changed the rules on how defenders can contact wider receivers. People want action filled exciting games. Rules that don't support that get ditched.

50 bucks says Kstat doesn't know what movie that line comes from.

                    • The funny thing is that the rule was initially changed because the NBA didn't like the idea of free throw specialists whose only purpose on the bench was to shoot free throws.

Nowadays, any guard worth his salt hits at an over 80% clip anyway. There's always going to be SOMEONE on the floor that can hit free throws. There's little reason not to revert the rule back to similar to what it was... just with the caveat that it must be someone currently on the floor.

Boom. You don't slow down the game and you effectively end this hack-a-whoever nonsense.

                      • I'm not a fan of the hack-a-whomever strategy (actually I don't think anybody is), but I think I'm with CGVT on this. Bottom line if you don't want opposing teams/coaches employing that strategy on you, then make your FT's. Pretty simple. But I also agree (I think froot mentioned it earlier) that it also rarely proves to be an effective strategy anyway.

                        • like I always say:

Best 2 minutes in sports, the last two minutes of a close hockey game
Worst 30 minutes in sports, the last two minutes of a close basketball game
                          The only logical explanation is:
I'm about to die and this is my Jacob's Ladder

Too bad (and this comes from a guy who devotedly watched hockey from the 80s to the 2000s) 90% of a hockey game is utter boredom. It's slightly more than soccer on ice with sticks. The highlights are great ... the rest is painful.

NFL football is by far the most viewer friendly sport, IMO. Must pay attention every time the ball is snapped. I guess it kinda sucks that the clock runs between plays a lot ... but still.
WHO CARES why it says paper jam when there is no paper jam?

                              • I don't know if I've ever seen a worse melt-down than the turd the Clippers laid vs the Rockets in the 4th Q this eve. The Rockets D was solid, but the Clippers became scared and lost.
