Even if Jackson signs another offer, the Pistons have right of first refusal, and even then they can work out a sign and trade if he's committed to leaving.

All that said, this is the perfect situation for him. He won't be in a hurry to go.

I like the trade. It's a good gamble that SVG will get the best out of a very young motivated talent.

Also as a side bonus, I think they get a tiny bit more cap space overall for next season which could end up being important and potentially allow the pistons to make two max or very near max offers (Green and Mornoe?). I think I read that they might be pretty close to 28 mill in cap room for next season depending on the cap jump.

Actually scratch that side bonus. Augustine was not guaranteed for next season so it's a wash for cap space at best.

A lot of people talk like Jackson could be a star. Its hard to argue if OKC offered him a 4 year 48 mil contract to be a back up PG. My best case scenario is that he turns into a baller and we can unload Jennings contract for someone with upside or a pick.

We have so much flexibility this offseason but we need to make sure we have money next year for Drummond. Either way it looks like SVG is giving this team direction to become a winner again.

Nice win vs the Bulls tonight. Dinwiddie and Lucas as your pg's. Spencer actually played ok - 12 pts, 9 dimes and 3 steals. I've never seen Rose look so bad, and it had little to do with Dinwiddie. Rose just looked bad. Caron Butler played most of the sf minutes and had 20 pts. Jimmie Butler is a beast. He had 30 pts.

Those last few years were pretty bad when Joey D was breaking up the band and putting together the following hall of fame coaches in Flip Saunders, Michael Curry, John Kuester, Lawrence Frank and Mo Cheeks!
