  • I'd rather have something better, but if they are throwing a draft pick to take it on, I would take it. But I don't think he fixes the backup point problem we see with Sasser.

    • If you are looking for a rental, I'm shooting for Lonzo Ball.

        • Man, one of these days I'd like the Pistons to be in on one of those deals where they get a first rounder.

          • I kind of think it may be a pipe dream to rent cap space for a first rounder. I think you have to be sending something of note player wise before that. It doesn't hurt to ask but two seconds seem to be the standard for these type of trades

              • If Ingram doesn't get traded and the Pelicans do exercise that trade with Detroit to get under the luxury tax, I would think the same type of compensation of this Martin trade, maybe a little bit less. NO is 1.6 million over the tax, getting under it by one dollar saves them 20 million.

                • That’s the Jose Alvarado move. Gets the Pistons the quality backup PG they need and his $1.9M salary does the trick for NO.

                  • Take that option off the board.

                    • Butler to the Warriors for Wiggins and a protected pick. The Pistons are taking on Lindy Waters and Josh Richardson. Not sure what the Pistons are getting for helping. SloMo is also involved but the Heat are sending him to Utah.

                        • I suppose it's nice that the Pistons have like two hundred second round picks now.

                          • When you don't have much to offer you get second round picks. Renting cap space only gets you so far. The Pistons had a GM that was tanking and never understood how to accumulate assets and they never really has any desirable assets to trade for a first round pick. There was one time in the last 6-7 years where they could have parlayed a player for a 1st rounder but Weaver foolishly held out for two 1st rounders for Bogdonavic.

Truthfully the way these trades have happened this deadline period, the big cap space the Pistons had has not materialized to be the last resort team because there are enough teams that can take on little salaries as well.

                            • Garland got them at the buzzer. The Pistons played OK but the bench desperately needs a point guard. Sasser sometimes works against crap teams but can't hack it against quality teams. Cunningham has got to shoulder so much of the load.

                              • Lonzo is signing a 2 year extension with the Bulls, so he’s no longer an option (if he ever was). They still need another true PG to take the pressure off of Cade. Maybe Tre Jones is an option from CHI.
