    • Kinda like the Tigers, people are taking a wait and see, most likely expecting the same as we have seen since Gores bought the team.When/if the team starts to win some games more will get on board, but right now I think most still see them as a bottom five NBA team.

      • Good chance they start out 0-6 or possibly even 0-8 because of the tough opening schedule. They've been competitive in each game but have kind of fallen apart in the 4th. Cunningham is playing well and Ivey has taken a big step up (big 3pt percentage improvement ). Teams are still sending 2 at Cade regularly. The new players have been spotty. The lack of a backup point guard is hurting. Rim protection is hurting.

There are things to work on and you can envision improvement in team play that was hard to see last year, but 0-4 is still disappointing. I was bullish on them finishing with 30 wins but you actually have to win games

        • Pistons losing by 30.

Sounds like Same Ol' Pistons so far this year. The only hopeful news is that with developing teams, it will often look like the same ol' same ol' until it rather abruptly doesn't.

          • Hey- they won fairly comfortably today, beating the 3-3 Nets by 14 on the road.

They now have to fly back from NY to play the Lakers at home tomorrow. Winning 2 in a row will be a tough ask

First time that both the Pistons and Lions won on the same day since 2021.

              • The Pistons had that terrible game against the Knicks, but all the other games were close. So perhaps when they settle in with the new coach and new players they could be ok. At least as OK as a 28-30 win team can be.

                • Apparently because of the NYC marathon the Pistons team had to travel by subway to get to the game in Brooklyn.

Yep. That was my stop for several months. I lived in that area of Brooklyn in 2011. Barclay's was being built at the time, so I've seen the inside of the arena but I never made it inside the arena.

                    • Beat the Lakers tonight, they look like a functional team. Cade and Ivey play well together, they aren't wasting minutes on players who can't play. So a few baby steps so far

                          • All four of our sports teams are showing great camaraderie. Players are wearing apparel of our other sports teams at their press conferences. It's great. GRIT BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!
                            GO LIONS "24" !!

That is one notable difference. It's not five guys clogging up the lane. The players have a semblance of cohesion. It should start to show up in the win column more and more as they get better at that cohesion.

                              • Heartbreak at the buzzer on a Brandon Miller putback won it. Cade started out hot in the first, killing them on drives to the basket. Cade didn't adjust as he kept on trying to force the issue. The offense can get a little clunky outside of Cade and Ivey. The numbers show the offense being highly efficient with both in the floor (but not great defensively). Still a lot better than last year, but that is a low bar.
