  • Harris is ok. He's getting older, but hasn't been all that far from 50-40-90 in recent seasons

    • This off-season has been much, much better than last year's trainwreck. A good deal to retain Fontecchio. They got 3 more shooters with Hardaway Jr., Beasley and Harris. They are one of the two teams left with cap space. They either have 21 million or 28 million depending on if they use an 8 million dollar trade exception. Using the cap space to take on assets didn't really materialize because there wasn't a lot of bad contracts to be off-loaded by other teams

Still some moves to be made because they will have to spend at least 5 million to get to the floor by opening night.

So what we will see this year is a much better offensive team that can shoot, but they are going to be defensively challenged to put it mildly The hope is Bickerstaff puts in a better defensive system and with better spacing the offense cuts down on turnovers. If you are efficient offensively and don't turn the ball over you can stay in games even if you are bad defensively. Ceiling is probably 30 wins but who knows. It would be nice to see logical progression.

Pistons guard Cade Cunningham has agreed on a five-year, $224 million maximum rookie extension that could become worth as much as $269 million.

      • No way they still have 20 mill cap space after Tek, Beasley, THJ, and Harris

          • Ahhhhhh ok that makes more sense if they wait to sign Tek. His cap number will go way up after he signs

            • They just claimed Bball Paul Reid off waivers from the Sixers. Having an actual functioning front office is crazy.

                • It's a good pickup considering the slim pickings out there for backup bigs. And he can shoot!

                    • Hey all - we're looking for managers to fill the Pistons Forum fantasy hoops league. It's a 9 cat head-to-head auction draft league and a few Lions forum regulars play (Mainevent, Gunny, KStat and some longtime lurkers like myself) The draft is on the 20th. If anyone's interested, let me know here or in the league thread:

Where is the Pistons forum now? The link never works for me anymore ... neither does the one you just posted. I don't really want to be in the league ... but it was a good forum

EDIT ... ok somehow now it does. Didn't for months

                            • Solid game tonight. Tobias looked great in the first quarter, Cade was solid, and Ivey showed a lot of scoring punch for the third game in a row.
