    • Difference is that Holmes was showing SOMETHING within 2 years. Weaver is in year 4, and his last offering had a whopping sub .200 winning percentage.

      • Let's see how it goes this year. I'm pretty sure they are no longer committed to the process that everyone wanted them to do. It's been hard to watch a franchise who cares more about ping pong balls than win.

          • I still can’t believe the success that team and it came out of nowhere. It wasn’t like we drafted some superstar they just were all the sudden there and learning to be unstoppable. It’s one of my favorite teams ever

They were so likeable and awesome
            F#*K OHIO!!!

                • This team will put his coaching to the test.....Too young, often underperform, and not a good shooting team.....He has to figure out how to utilize the athleticism of guys like Cade and Ivey, and try to figure out some way to get the team to play a decent level of defense and rebound.

No, he's not. But at the same time, the numbers really can't be denied. It actually is a pretty stupidly low percentage of 3's that simply average out to more points than 2's, and the percentage where it makes sense for a player to take a 2 over a 3 is so ridiculously high that not even the best post players in NBA history are able to cross that threshold. If you can hit a three at a roughly 35% rate, it's simply GOING to be more valuable than a two-pointer unless you can hit around 65%.

                      • Unless a guy has an excellent mid range game, it makes more sense to just shoot the three. Williams just came from Phoenix where he had three excellent mid range guys. The Pistons were adequate offensively last year, on defense they were the pits. That has to improve no matter what is done offensively.

                        • Phoenix Suns' Devin Booker reps Detroit by wearing Tigers gear on Lions sideline

Phoenix Suns superstar and Grand Rapids native Devin Booker was on the Ford Field sidelines for the Detroit Lions' game against the Carolina Panthers.

Booker, who is in town for the Suns' preseason matchup with the Detroit Pistons on Sunday at 3 p.m., hung out pregame with Lions legend Calvin Johnson in Tigers gear. Booker made the stop pregame before heading down Woodward to Little Caesars Arena for his exhibition game alongside fellow All-Star teammates Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal.

Booker, 26, said it was his first time in Ford Field. The Lions were dominant, going ahead 14-0 early and taking a 28-10 lead into halftime.

Booker moved from Michigan to Mississippi when he was a sophomore in high school to live with his father. He did not return to Michigan for college, but said he keeps close tabs to the pro teams besides the Pistons as a fan. Booker had a long line of fans waiting for autographs at Little Caesars Arena and he spent time happily obliging.

Booker will be back in Michigan again early in the regular season on Nov. 5 for a matchup with the Pistons. It is one of two matchups for the Pistons and championship-contending Suns during the season.

Booker signed a four-year, $222.7 million contract in July 2022 ($55.7 million annually), so don't get your hopes up on a long-term reunion, Pistons fans. (The Pistons are currently set up with loads of cap space for 2024 summer.)

                          • Booker one of SVGs biggest blunders...How he thought Stanley Johnson would be better is beyond any of us....nice of him to stop by and enjoy the game though!....We still dream of what could have been with a Donovan Mitchell-Devin Booker backcourt.....

Those 2 blunders are just as bad in their own way as Joe Dumars drafting Darko 20 years ago.

At least Joe D built a NBA Champion. SVG never has done that in his whole career.
