  • Scoot and Liliiard were not going to be a tenable backcourt, too small. Lillard is doing well the Blazers a favor by requesting a the wde.

There’s a lot of truth to that but again it begs to question. What would you have done differently this year? I’m fairly certain Bogdanovićis moved and the guys that we’ve brought in are on expiring contracts. That’s screaming a trade is coming
      F#*K OHIO!!!

      • I wouldn't have helped out Brooklyn for less than a 1st round pick, fuck second round picks.

I would have signed Reaves to a big offer sheet. They need to trade the center squad. They can't have 4 centers that can't play together.

Yeah.. that shit irks me as well. I thought that when we were trading J Grant but Brooklyn was kind of screwed this year and we bailed them out.

          • The obvious "stars" aren't going to be available, and even when they are they won't be coming to Detroit as of right now.

Weaver has to shoot his fucking shot, and spend some scratch on a second tier guy that might make a jump to the elite tier. That's not going to change next year, or the year after, or the year after.

            • The Pacers just acquired Toppin for 2 2nd rounders. When given starters minutes he's produced, that's a trade I'd have liked for the Pistons. Instead the Pacers are putting together a nice squad.

You're right about free agency but the thing that gets me is that Weaver has all the cap space needed along with expiring contracts. How can we not land better talent through trades?

                • He'll say that "he wants to know what he needs before he commits, and he doesn't know what he has yet."

What he thinks is, "I'm too chickenshit to pull the trigger because one mistake will screw my career, so why not grift and make excuses for as long as my boss will let me. Shame that he wouldn't let me hire Kevin Ollie, though."

                  • The more I think about the Obi Toppin trade the more I realize Weaver is a moron or he’s not done yet. I can’t believe the Knicks gave up on him.

                    • Even if you shoot your shot and it turns out to be a bad contract, every other team in the league can get rid of bad contracts. It's only when you have a true super max contract do you have trouble unloading it.

Again I will point out Dumars built a championship team after 4 years. Weaver is pulling the scam all OKC related front office types do, you just continue to kick the can down the road while acquiring future assets. Of course his future assets are second round picks.

                      • Nice to see the Spurs making smart use of their cap space. Unlike the Pistons (maybe now dumbassed?) GM.
Spurs are receiving an unprotected 2030 1st RD swap from the Mavs for taking on Reggie Bullock’s expiring $10M contract. Meanwhile the one 2nd RD pick the Pistons netted this off-season… Woohoo! 🙄. Yeah, I’m jealous while reading stuff like this because it makes the Pistons look more foolish IMO.

2012 Detroit Lions Draft: 1) Cordy Glenn G , 2) Brandon Taylor S, 3) Sean Spence olb, 4) Joe Adams WR/KR, 5) Matt McCants OT, 7a) B.J. Coleman QB 7b) Kewshan Martin WR

                          • It shouldn't have been, nobody was lining up to trade for Joe Harris. That trade was there on July 6th.
