  • I'm not sure they are going to be a decent squad as they mature. We haven't seen any real progress on that front. That is the issue with imitating the process, you might be in the process for a long time. That team stunk last year. I applaud how they went out and got Monty Williams, but I'm not sure if he is a guy who can turn around the franchise.

If you don't win the lottery, you are picking 5th and you are having a serious conversation about drafting a prospect that might have Stanley Johnson's jumper, I would contend the lottery is a lot less important than the days when we grew up.

    • Sounds like Scoot picked up significant momentum for #2 today. Back and forth debate between Scoot Henderson and Brandon Miller at #2. I personally think it’s the better idea to draft BPA over need. Just pick the prospect that you think will be a better pro. Figure out the need part later. Scoot has the common question of “can he shoot in the NBA.” Outside of that and being short (huge wingspan though), checks a lot of boxes to be the 2nd best prospect in the class IMO.

Seems like the top 6 will be:
      - Spurs, Wemby.
      - Hornets, Scoot.
      - Blazers, Miller.
      - Rockets, Amen.
      - Pistons, Ausar.
      - Magic, Black.

What progress could you possibly expect when the best player and franchise cornerstone is out for the season and the next best player is a rookie? Killian Hayes was the PG. He’s hot garbage.

Your progress is Cade and Ivey learning to play with each other then assembling a team around them.
        F#*K OHIO!!!

You're not only an amazingly beautiful man, but you're the greatest football mind to ever exist. <-- Jeffy Shittypants actually posted this. I knew he was in love with me.

This is one of those do we go with the better prospect or go for the better fit? Miller fits the team perfectly while there are questions on how well Scoot and Lamelo will work together....but alot of people seem to think Scoot will be a great NBA player and he doesnt have the off court issues that Miller has had.

          • Also the Warriors have traded Jordan Poole to the Wizards for Chris Paul...Stay tuned!

            • Wizards are going to be a fun tanking team with a Tyus Jones + Poole backcourt. Along with all of their young players. So far so good after being a few weeks into their rebuild!

It might be Miller after all at #2. Everything that’s leaked keeps drastically shifting between Scoot and Miller. Chaos!

              • That Warriors trade did two things, it was a salary dump as Poole's massive.new deal is starting this season and he had become a.problem. I'm not sure the trade works basketball wise for the Warriors.

That's kind of a long shot proposition so far though. You can like Cunningham and Ivey and still be dubious that they are doing it the right way as I am. This is Weaver's fourth off-season and he has assembled a team that has a franchise cornerstone that has had injuries mar both his seasons and the next best player is a rookie. That is actually awful team building. He has been really bad as a GM.

And trade up from 31 to 25 to select Marcus Sasser.

This is the one and only post about the Pistons pick. That should tell you how thrilled the fan base is. We drafted a SG that can’t shoot to play SF. I hope I’m wrong with this kid but I don’t see it

                          • Would imagine Ausar primarily plays at the 3 as he fills out his body. With the capability of guarding 1-4. So you then have this lineup long term:
                            1. Cade Cunningham
                            2. Jaden Ivey
                            3. Ausar Thompson
                            4. ? Maybe big contract for Cameron Johnson…
                            5. Jalen Duren

I just hope John Beilein can help these guys develop their shooting mechanics. That’s the big question if this core will work.

Nothing much else to say about Ausar. I mostly get it. Makes me feel similar to when the Tigers drafted Jackson Jobe a few years ago. Huge ceiling/ low floor idea. It’s going to be a long time before us fans see benefits.

I was surprised no one else commented....I expect it to be like the Lions...When the Pistons start showing signs of becoming a competitive team, then the fans will return.....Its hard to get excited about a 17-65 team that hasnt won a playoff game in 15 years.

I didnt like this trade....The player was projected as a second rounder and plays a postion where the Pistons are pretty deep already....I guess he can take Cory Joseph's spot and he can score at a good clip..... maybe he works out....He's very undersized but we have seen many examples of smaller players doing fine in the NBA,
