Yeah, that's part of what I was getting at with controlling the narrative - not only form a media perspective, but controlling the basketball narrative, the whole player empowerment shift, he's the first guy to really seize control of his career in that way.

LeBron changed the game. Very few have every done that.....Wilt, Bird and Magic, MJ, LeBron and Curry.

I think Draymond has had almost as much effect on the game as Curry. Nobody would play small for extended periods of time until Kerr deployed Draymond as the 5. The Heat with Bosh and the Spurs with Duncan would deploy small lineups in short bursts but they would always go back to big lineups. When Kerr did that with Draymond he made a sea change in basketball.

LeBron is a one of one, stylistically on the court he hasn't spawned a lot of imitators like Jordan did. We had a parade of "Next Jordans".

Draymond as a 5 only really works if you have a Curry and a Thompson and others that can hit the open 3 at a high enough clip. Otherwise, that's too many bricks for someone that small to not eventually get eaten up by traditional big men over the course of four quarters.

Draymond should thank the Lord every night that he got drafted by Golden State...His career would most likely have been vastly different if he ended up in Detroit or somewhere else.

That might be right, but the thing about Draymond that seperates him from a guy like Ben Wallace is he is a positive force on offense even if he throws up a lot of bricks because of his playmaking skills. A lot of the GS sets, Draymond is a de facto point guard or point forward. That's because Curry and Thompson are great moving without the ball. His PNR skills are off the charts. Plus in the NBA, there is not that many traditional bigs. There's not a team in the league that runs an offense that pounds it into the post. The best big men (Jokic, Embid) do most of their damage from the high post.

My hate for LeBron stems from him showing the Pistons that they were no more. He single handedly broke the Pistons back forcing Joey D to make stupid moves like Iverson as our squad just didn't know what to do with LBJ. Kind of like Jordan showing the Bad Boy era the door.

Which on the flip is probably why the Celtics and Lakers hated the Pistons so much (besides the pummeling). The Pistons ended the Lake Show's era 2 separate times. I still can't believe how badly the Pistons destroyed the 04 team. That was legendary.

Besides that I don't have any issue with LeBron. He'll go down as one of the top 1-5 players ever depending on how you look at it. He's been unreal.

And that's because shooters have gotten so good at the 3 that grinding out possessions in the paint are a losing scenario. You'd have to hit around 70% of your shots in the paint for it to be worth the exchange. About the only big men that even came close to that sort of interior production was Shaq and maybe Kareem.

But that's why small ball has become a thing. When you have four guys who can shoot the three, and especially can hit the open three, defenses can't afford to have two towering trees that can't hustle, and even your 5 has to have enough speed to gobble up long rebounds, and that was what makes someone like Green invaluable. It's less that his skill set opened up a new strategy more than his skill set perfectly fit the new strategy that had emerged.

Well, I'd argue Wemba is more of a wing that happens to be roughly 7 feet tall. He's more in the Kevin Durant mold.

As for the others... Duren absolutely has the motor to be a 5 in any system. The rest? I don't know why Murphy is collecting them.

Basketball where the players improve their shooting so much it leads to a no defense boring game.
Rule changes to stop hand checks and other things don’t help.
I would tinker with making a 3 point shot a 2.5 shot.
Games would be closer and a team could win by a half point😎

Wemba is a generational talent. You take those and fit the talent around them

Stewart has the ability to defensively play in space and is decent for a big along the arc. JD is a very good and very young guy that looks like he can do the dirty work at the very least. Bagley is likely to be dealt this offseason. Wiseman is at least a higher upside version of Bagley.
