Basically, he was keeping the Lakers from getting blown out just on the edge of maybe making a comeback. in the second half, Kobe decided to get his teammates involved (at least that was his defense). It played right into the Suns hands because Kobe was the only guy that was hurting them and all of a sudden he is not going to shoot the ball.

It was not a good Lakers team but that was because Kobe couldn't stand that Shaq drove the bus with the Lakers. He had to be the top dog. That was what mattered to him above all else. If he didn't HAVE to be the top dog unquestioned then you don't get the break up. Kobe was going to ascend to the top dog role naturally within a couple more years as Shaq started the downside of his career. But Kobe couldn't wait it had to be now.

The fact that Kobe forced Shaq out is not slander. That is a fact. The fact Kobe only took 3 shots in a Game 7 the second half against the Suns is not slander. That is fact.

Saying that Kobe is not a top 10 player all time is not slander. And I never said Kobe wasn't a great player. I have said I would never want him on my team.
I think Kobe is a great player and completely agree that he's not top 10 all time. Shaq was the best player on his first 3 title teams ... and I'm not sure Kobe was better than Gasol on the last 2 absolutely stacked rosters he won with

There's no chance he's better than any of MJ, Wilt, Kareem, LeBron, Magic, Bird, Russell, Hakeem, Oscar, Shaq. Not saying that's the top 10 ... but no chance Kobe was better than any of them

I m an admitted Kobe hater, but I think he is in the conversation once you get to the middle of that list

I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

I know, but earlier this year he seemed to be playing lethargic. Now he's playing with his hair on fire.
Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

              • Earlier in the year he was also coming back from an injury, he suffered a knee injury at the end of the preseason.

                • Kobe isn’t top ten, but he’s top 15/20 all time. He always won with an elite big in Shaq/Gasol. Shaq did the heavy lifting when Kobe was young and selfish as a player. Gasol allowed for the savant, student of the game, masterclass hoops when Kobe matured as a true alpha.

                  • The Kobe/Gasol combo is one of the most overlooked duos in sports history. The IQ and fluidity and pure hoops science was something to behold. Like geometry level shit. The diehard hoop fans will understand where I’m going with this.

(Pau) Gasol is my pick for most underrated NBA player of all time

What is "An Overrated One Trick Pony?"

I'll take "Born on Third Base" for $800, Alex.

                              Ha!

Thats a somewhat true statement considering he couldn’t keep Kobe and Shaq together. They could have dominated for a minute but Zen master couldn’t keep the wheels on

                              • No coach was keeping Kobe and Shaq together. He may have always landed in a good situation, but I will always ride with Big Chief Triangle.
