No way that the Warriors void that trade. It would cost them too much.

For me a scoring point is nice but not a must have.
Hayes is never going to be a great scorer. Even in Detroit, I want him setting up Cade, Ivey, BB etc.2012 Detroit Lions Draft: 1) Cordy Glenn G , 2) Brandon Taylor S, 3) Sean Spence olb, 4) Joe Adams WR/KR, 5) Matt McCants OT, 7a) B.J. Coleman QB 7b) Kewshan Martin WR

Hayes isn’t a starting PG by a far stretch. He can find a nitch but he’ll never be a complete starting PG. I just hope he finds some level of consistencyF#*K OHIO!!!

And Hayes is not good enough at the things he does well to ignore the offense. He’s not a defensive force like Marcus Smart, some nights he looks really good, other nights he’s a non factor. And he’ll come down and set up the offense, but he’s not much of a creator. It’s hard to be a creator when teams don’t respect your offense.
He flashes at times, and he’s still very young, but the player his is now is a backup on a good team. Maybe that’s enough for the Pistons to keep him around to see if it somehow clicks, but the price isn’t starter money.

I do wonder how all of these players would look with a new coach. I'm not a Casey hater, but I think maybe a new voice might improve the defense. And it might make Hayes a better defender.
Part of the problem with this endless fascination with failed big men is none of these guys are good defensively. It's much easier defend on the perimeter when you can funnel a player somewhere.

I think alot of the selection of Ivey was that the team is not sure if Hayes is a quality PG......His first two years were injury filled and he underperformed badly...He has been a little better in year 3 but he still is not an electric PG.....If he were a QB, he would be labeled a game manager. Also he has to have the ball in his hands to be effective at all....Long term, I dont see him sticking in Detroit with Ivey and Cade both being much better options.

I didn’t realise Gary Payton II was involved in the trade. This failed physical could nix the whole deal and im ok with itF#*K OHIO!!!

GP is for sure the better player for them but he’s going to miss someone time. Portland was straight up ridin’ dirty with that trade. Not a good look for them.
I loved Wiseman out of college but I don’t think he’s going to amount to anything here. I feel like we could get something better in return during the off season for Bey
Its not a good trade, I hope they nix itF#*K OHIO!!!

It's less about what Bey was worth and how much the Pistons were doing the Warriors a favor. Hollinger claimed the trade saved GS over 100 million (it's going to be less because they flipped those second rounders for GP II).Last edited by froot loops; February 12, 2023, 06:33 PM.
