  • Pistons get Bojan Bogdanovic for Kelly Olynyk and Saben Lee. Bogdonavic is on an expiring contract and can hit threes. No draft picks involved.

    • They didn’t land KD or anything but that’s a fantastic trade for the Pistons. What the hell is the catch?
      F#*K OHIO!!!

You're not only an amazingly beautiful man, but you're the greatest football mind to ever exist. <-- Jeffy Shittypants actually posted this. I knew he was in love with me.

      • No catch, the Jazz are rebuilding and in tank mode. All in for the French unicorn. Maybe they like Saben Lee as well.

        • He scored 18 ppg last season. That’s such a good trade for the Stones

          • Meanwhile, the Pistons get an expiring contract and a guy who score in the short term.

            • Bogdanovic is actually in the starting lineup.

              Pistons starters:
              1. Cade Cunningham
              2. Jaden Ivey
              3. Bojan Bogdanovic
              4. Saddiq Bey
              5. Isaiah Stewart

Side note. Geez, why do I have the NBA on TV in the month of October. The only explanation is to watch Ivey and get a glimpse of the new rotation/ players…

                Ha !

Because you are a Piston fan and you have spent the off-season reading all kinds of positive things. Your reasoning is sound.

My take on the game last night was that Duran showed he is going to be in the rotation. He got 14 rebounds and looked good except at the end of the game when he had been in the game without any rest in the second half. Duran goes after every rebound, and he is only 18 years old. On the negative side, Cade and Bey were 4-20. Despite effusive praise from Stan VanGundy, Killian Hayes cannot shoot. CAN NOT. Ivey was OK, but the lineup they started that you posted is way too small. The Knicks hammered them on the boards, at least until Duran came in.

                • I thought the Lions were taking that next step. Hopefully it’s the Pistons now.

                  • Vegas has them at 27.5 wins last I saw......That isnt much progress.....and the early preseason games (for what it is worth) dont look very promising either.

                    • It was at 29.5 a week ago and I bet the under. Very concerned about shooting and defense. Unless Cade makes a big leap or Ivey is an out of the gate stud, it might be another year.

                      • They might be a much better team, but the East is stacked.

                        • Yeah, thats the other problem. 10 teams ahead of them in the East easy to start the season.

                            Yup.

The NBA has dozens of good point guards coming off the bench, and Detroit doesn't have one of them. Not only do they need 3-point shooting, but they need 2-point shooting as well. Their centers (and I don't include Stew as a center because he is just too short) do not have a consistent 2-point game from 15 feet or so. I live in the Phoenix area most of the winter, so I see a lot of Ayton. He has what I call a functional 2-point game.

As for the Pistons in general, I'm a little tired of waiting for that 20-year-old with tons of potential to make good. Doumboya and Killian Hayes were/are busts. We will see, but Cunningham looks to me like a sound player, but slow. Not an all-star. I hope I'm wrong.

OTOH, Duran has a little Rodman in his game. I think he is worth waiting on (he is 18)

                            • I wasn't sure if Cade needed to get stronger or quicker.....They opted for stronger and he put on 20 lbs?...i hope its the right choice,

                              • High 20s/ low 30s wins sounds exactly right. Good job, Vegas.
Pistons will stack up those wins vs the handful of teams that bottom out for Wembanyama.

It’s probably the Red Wings at soonest. Pistons are another year or two away from contending for a playoff spot.
