Giannis is going to be going strong in 2025. This trade probably takes off the table a sign and trade, they really don't have any salary slots to deal, they better hope Phoenix cheaps out on the offer sheet.

This is my question with this trade.The Pistons have a uncanny ability to amass cap space in years where there isn't much available. People complain about the Charlie V and Ben Gordon signings, a Brad Beal signing would make those signings look quaint.

Very true. They can take on any bad trade that they want for future 1sts. I’d be trying to get as many 1st round picks from teams like the Lakers who are trying to stay in the mix for their window.

Charlotte is trying to get out of the last 2 years of Gordon Hayward’s contract and they have picks 13 and 15. Could be a trade partner.

It doesn’t sound like we’ll be trying to help Charlotte out if the Pistons want to sign Miles Bridges to a restricted max deal.

If it were one year left on the deal then maybe...but more than one year doesn't sound like a good idea......

I’d rather take future lottery assets than picks now in the teens. Murray seems like a fairly certain pick now

It definitely wasn’t the trade that I expected but the flexibility of this team is insane. Just a few years ago we had no direction and the worst contract in the league that seemed unmovable.

The only concerning thing about that pick is that it’s top 4 protected, but I don’t think it rolls over. Meaning if it lands in the top 4 we lose the pick.

It’s such a slim chance but it exists. It’s like the Pistons 1st that we traded away. After so many years it turns into 2 2nd rounders. The NBA process of trading 1st can be really confusing. People don’t want to be Otis Thorped

The point isn't to manipulate the league for future draft.oicks, you have the star in Cade Cunningham now. You need players now, not picks for draft geeks to get hyped up about years down the road. Cap space in the league is overrated, you are much more.likely to just end up with a highly paid stuff than get some bonanza for taking on bad contracts.

He's ok if you are just looking to make the playoffs. Paying the max to him is not a smart.move.

Yes agreed, it’s not very probable but who would have thought GS would have been picking #2 in 2020? All it takes is that 1 injury and GS went from heavy favorites to worst in the league

The pick not rolling over is what sucks. More than likely it’ll be in the 20’s but you never know.
