I think tanking for 4 straight years is dumb and that's what the Sixers did. The Pistons have done it for two years and that's enough.

I expect the Pistons to accelerate their competitiveness starting next season. Time to win with Cade.
NBA lottery is on Tuesday night FYI.

I'm also biased. I never liked him after his little beef with Drummond.
All sports are the difference between what each side "scores" If you give up as much as you score, what good are you.

The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

I don't think Embiid stunted any of the other players' development, I just don't think the players they picked were all that good. When we were growing up, lottery picks were much more fully formed players. Now, very few come into the league a finished product and most of the time you don't know what you have until the end of the first contract. The NBA is a league where you have to constantly work to improve your game even if you are a high lottery pick.

The players they picked were great. Fultz was elite athletically, had a jumper, and the ideal mix of passing and scoring skills to play with Simmons. Fultz pre-draft was near exact what the Pistons should want beside Cade.
Simmons was incredible. He's taller than LeBron or Magic, but right up near them both in terms of IQ and feel for the game. Great athlete, incredible defender.
The problem was that they were flakes, cream puffs, whatever you want to call it ... which i guess is part of the package, so if you want to say they weren't any good ... whateverWHO CARES why it says paper jam when there is no paper jam?

Fultz wasn't any good, Simmons is a different story, I'm not sure what's going on with him now, but I question the basketball IQ claim. He doesn't work on his game and hasn't really improved,.but he is really good defensively..
It gets back to my point that these guys are not fully formed as lottery picks. Like when you picked Duncan, Shaq, Ewing, Jordan, Hakeem, Robinson, etc.. If those guys are coming up in a draft, it makes a shit ton of sense to tank for a chance at them. Those guys were ready to go, you knew a hell of a lot more about them than you did Markelle Fultz. And it also gets back.to the 4 straight years of tanking, a couple.of those years aren't going to have a sure fire guy.

Fultz was very good. He just wrecked his shoulder and it ruined him for awhile. He's actually still a very good backup pg who could still end up a good starter if he could stay healthyWHO CARES why it says paper jam when there is no paper jam?
