I just think that some people thought the process was some sort of great strategy. They were intentionally tanking for 4-5 seasons and it really got them nowhere.
A lot of guys WANT to win. They may even think they are putting it all out there and they truly need to win. If so, WTF are you GAF about any of that. Embiid was falling all over the floor last night. I believe he still is facing the remnants of a concussion. He should not had been out there. Some of the shots he threw up were so bad. The only reason they didn't lose by 30 was because of Maxy and more importantly, Milton. Karma for how he does other people. Bullies are just cowards in a favorable situation.

He was terrible. They didn't keep the beard interested so he was ready for it to be done and deferred.

The Celtics did something similar. But Philly made a lot of bad decisions. IDK why they went for Hardin. His style doesn't lend to winning. He plays terrible D and can give up more points then he scores.

Tanking isn't why they're sitting at home. The people they chose is why.
Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

    • They kept Harris over Butler and traded a #1 pick to move up two spots to #1 to take Fultz. They could have taken Tatum and still had the pick. The Process worked, the organization didn't keep the right players.

      • They were two decisions away from having Butler on their roster right now and Tatum to pair with Embiid and Simmons.

Simmons is his own story (a mental midget) but they could have had PREMIUM talent. Not to mention the #1 pick they lost in the Fultz deal.

          • I always get a kick out of how Charmin soft the Sixers are. Part of The Process involved trading Jrue Holiday, That trade was terrible.

Butler was traded because Simmons and Brett Brown didn't like Butler. Simmons was the crown jewel of The Process, they weren't keeping Butler over him. When your franchise tanks for a half a decade, it becomes Charmin soft and cannot handle a guy like Butler.

Saying The Process worked if only they had the benefit of hindsight to pick the players who turned out to be the best is not a good argument.

            • This is all stupid.

Anthony Bennett was a bust ... therefore the #1 pick in the NBA draft doesn't work

              Stupid

Purgatory blows. The best way for smaller market teams to avoid it is to get the highest draft picks possible and hit on them

              • Philly is in no way a small market team, the process was a gigantic failure. It didn't work, the last two games by the Sixers were Charmin soft pathetic.

                • The Pistons were only a couple moves from contending, keep Middleton and draft Giannis.

And that's the tragedy of Joe Dumars at the end of his run: He had actually found a diamond in the rough with Middleton with the 39th pick in 2012, and had a chance to draft both Kawhi Leonard, who was drafted with the 15th overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft by the Indiana Pacers but was traded that night to the San Antonio Spurs, and Giannis Antetokounmpo was selected 15th overall by the Milwaukee Bucks in 2013. Dumars selected Brandon Knight with the 8th pick in 2011, and then picked Kentavious Caldwell-Pope with the 8th pick that year instead of the Greek Freak.

                    2 big misses by Dumars.

lol.. are you kidding? Any team that drafts Giannis is a contender and you’re acting like he was some major blue chip that everyone heard of. Team were scouting him as a project to stay in Europe

                      • Yes, I am joking to show the absurdity of saying what the Sixers should have done to prove The Process was a success.

It doesn't matter whether they're a small market team. Maybe i have the wrong idea of what the process actually is, but as long as you have competent people drafting, my point was that tanking isn't a bad way to go to get the talent. For bigger market teams, sometimes they can buy talent, sometimes that doesn't work either

Half the NBA whiffed on Giannis. Especially given the overall poor quality of that class.

I think the process failed when the drafted Embiid. I know that sounds crazy but that guy is so much of a me player I think those other top picks never really developed. I'll never know for sure but no one who plays with him seems to grow.

I'm also biased. I never liked him after his little beef with Drummond.
