I wouldn't be upset with either Cade, Green, or Mobley, in that order of preference.

But, to paraphrase what the people at Comerica Park said the other day, "I want Cade!"

Any other scenario, I draft Cade Cunningham with a smile and don't look back.Last edited by chemiclord; July 22, 2021, 07:47 PM.

It’s very tough to pass on Cade for anything but a godfather offer. The NBA is a star league and Cade is the cleanest two way prospect in years. Do you really want to drop a tier in player for a bunch of picks? I like Green and Mobley as well, but they are not the unicorn playmaker two way player that Cade is.
Cade can fit on any team. He’s just one of those guys. He’s the pick and appears pretty much 100% since the team and Cade “went public” with their relationship at the Tigers game. The Pistons know what they have.
I guess you have to at least listen to other offers. You need to scout the other guys, but it’s going to take a huge package to drop down and not take this guy. He’s everything you need in the modern L, he actually wants to be here, and he’s a culture guy.
Don’t be greedy. We got lucky landing #1. Don’t insult the hoops gods. Just take the best player. That guy is clearly Cade.
Green is the guy I think has superstar ability, but he has a long way to go. Cade does it all. You just build around him with any sort of player. He’s just that good. And he plays defense!

And whiffing on the #2 overall pick in the '03 NBA Draft with Darko Miličić certainly didn't help at all.

Joey D was amazing. He didn’t just build us 1 championship team he built us a winner. Joey D’s downfall was LeBron James. Much like the Bad Boys who were aging and couldn’t do anything to stop MJ the Pistons couldn’t offset LBJ.
Of course if they just drafted Melo things might have been different. Or not getting screwed over because of the hard cap not being able to resign Okur or if Kobe wouldn’t have nixed a trade at the last minute that would have made him a Piston.
Either way we had a great runF#*K OHIO!!!
You're not only an amazingly beautiful man, but you're the greatest football mind to ever exist. <-- Jeffy Shittypants actually posted this. I knew he was in love with me.

Hope springs. Tigers are on a winning streak. Lions seem to be on a different track that (at least) looks and feels different & better and will be starting TC shortly. SteveY just pulled off a wicked awesome trade (IMHO) and will look to add to that over the weekend.
Olympics is starting this weekend too.
Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

I'm happy with that one championship. Butterfly effect, who knows what happens if they don't draft Darko. Does Melo or DWade mess up the championship team chemistry? Who knows.
...
This two round mock gives the Pistons Cade Cunningham, JT Thor, Quentin Grimes, and Isaiah Livers. I certainly like to see that in the scenario where the Pistons use all four draft picks. Don't know anything about Thor, but cool name.

Thor played well in Chicago at the combine. He does have an outside shot and an offensive game that Simms doesn't at this point.
If they found themselves at this point, they should probably make a deal to get pick #38 or #39 and take both.

Drafting DWade would have taken away the Miami Heat threat in 2005-2006. The two times the Pistons played the Heat in the ECF.
Regardless... I don't remember people saying the Pistons should draft Wade at #2. I'm fine with how things turned out. Not complaining at all! It worked out for everyone but the Raptors.AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill

Wade could have been their "Vinny Johnson" until he took over later. It would have given them someone that could go right back at Bron and maybe counteracted him a bit.Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice.
