The question isn't if Messi embellishes contact, because he absolutely does.
The question is if he is particularly worse or more frequent than any given superstar, which I would need a LOT of convincing. You could make an equally ridiculous diving reel for Mbappe or Ronaldo or anyone with a career longer than a hot minute.Comment

I don't care about diving, I get amused by it, but Messi is one of the biggest offenders. Big time goal scorers have to embellish or dive. It's the name of the game.

Croatia just doesn't feel comfortable unless the game is on the line.
Rare to see a team repeatedly get results from games that would routinely crush the average team (from a pressure perspective).
For people who wonder why you don't dick around with PK's (which for some reason we have seen more of lately), just watch that PK Casemiro took.
GK had him dead to rights (went the correct side and gauged the ball at the correct height) and still couldn't stop it - because Casemiro thumped it with the authority you should thump a PK. A fraction less power and he gets his mitts on it and likely pushes it wide.Comment
