local radio was discussing 'teaser' teams .... Obviously Detroit was part of that conversation and they hit on a couple of good points.
1) Schwartz is a punk. His 'tough' guy looks like an act, and he is a clown of a coach who absolutely got tooled this past weekend.
2) Detroit is 'loserville' they will never win ... why? Because they have a Lion on their helmet, it's simply part of the DNA. Other teams that also live in loserville (San Diego) have something to blame .. San Diego for instance had Norv Turner to blame ... or Marty Shott ... In Detroit it doesn't matter who the coach is. They will always lose.
Interesting to hear an outsiders take.Forever One!

Point 2) It is hard to shake the loser image when you have been losing for 50 years. The same could have been said of the Pats when they had the stupid assed red uniforms and the cheesy helmet logo.
I think Schwartz has served his purpose in Detroit. Time to move on. Kind of the like the Sam Wyche to Tony Dungy to John Gruden transition in Tampa.I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

It's tough to root for this team to make the playoffs knowing that going to the playoffs 2 times in 3 years probably gets Schwartz a lifetime contract. That said, even if they utterly collapse down the stretch he's not getting fired.

Yesterday's loss really pissed me off unlike most Lions losses do. At least when the Lions suck I expect them to suck. They lose and I let it go. I don't even care because I expect it.
How do you not get a catch from Megatron the whole second half? Why do you fake a fg with a 4 point lead when you need 5 yards for the first? How do you throw for 327 yards in the first half and only 35 in the second half?Lions free since 6/23/2020

plain and simple, no accountability, no production. The only logical explanation is:
I'm about to die and this is my Jacob's Ladder

Lion's D is pretty sad. They can stop the run for the most part but have trouble Vs. the pass. Just can not seem to make a stop on a 3rd and long. Very frustrating to watch. Been this way all year. Hard for me to believe this team will make a strong run towards the playoffs.
On a more positive note, Lions have their best O line in 12 years. You feeling strong my friend? Call me elf one more time.

Then at some point, opponents realized, "Ya know... the Lions only rush four. They refuse to blitz and their secondary is terrible. We can just... ya know... play pass protect and give our QB all day to pick that back seven apart."
And much like the Lions are wont to do, they will not, can not, adjust.
