Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.

Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.

If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!

Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.

Stay safe and well and thank you for your participation in the Forum and for your support!! --Deborah

My 13 year old's season just ended and I have watched an entire year of kids firing bombs from beyond the arc. Most of the kids are shooting from their waist and developing terrible fundamentals. There is no effort to work the ball for a good shot.

There is no way these kids should be shooting the ball from that distance.
That would drive me crazy too, but it just has not been an issue in the youth basketball that my boys are in. There is the occasional 3-point attempt - but nothing excessive. I wonder why the difference?

    • I've seen differences in leagues. A lot of times it is dependant on how well they teach defense or emphasize defense. I've found that coaches in the middle schools and high schools aren't necessarily the best at coaching so you get a lot of chucking threes.

Personally when I coached if your layer could shoot and had an open shot I wanted them to take it.

I agree with this. Give me a shapely B or C cup any day over something bigger. Bigger is not better.

                            • well for some reason i can't see the original post, but the Study was saying if you use one side of your brain you don't use the other as much.

So I was just kind of making an oxymoron statement as in braindead scientists.

Scientist are very smart, but the other side is brain dead.

trying to be kind of funny
