I am really tired of seeing football players doing their pregame "inspirational" speeches prior to game.
A guy gets a circle of players around him and rants and raves, usually spouting off about how "this is our house" or " we need to stick together" or "nobody can beat us" etc etc
I think there are a few players that may actually have an affect on their team mates, Brees comes to mind, but I think most is just a bunch of hot air and the players around them are secretly rolling their eyes.
Watching Monday Night Countdown and they keep showing RGIII doing it and it seems that it contrived and not sincere at all. It's all for show bullshit.I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

I've heard players laughingly talk about Lewis' speeches.
That shit is all overplayed for the cameras.
Do you think anyone on the Redskins believes RGIII's bullshit, that it fires them up?
I highly doubt it.I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

History suggests it is a wire but close enough to the ground that when they slip, they get back up on the wire with no damage or physical injury.
When back up, they continue, slip again, and again, and again, and again, and again, then it is understood they can not walk that wire.
New coach, more years of similar results, rinse repeat.I long for a Lions team that is consistently competitive.
