Like i said, the dreams really don't phase me too much anymore (at least afterwords......I'm generally scared shitless during the dreams). The time it tried to convince me that it was my father freaked me out for a few weeks. Last night was maybe a bit more than average because it was threatening Andrea and not me.

I guess one of the freaky parts, to me anyway, is that the dream and the man always appear exactly where I am sleeping. I never dream it's happening somewhere else. if I fall asleep on the couch.....that's where it happens. When I went on vacation to Jamaica......it was in the hotel room (that one was pretty creepy with the style of the bamboo hotel room and the way he came from the bathroom). If I take a mid-afternoon nap.....it's actually light in room (which raises the creepy factor because he's still so dark an difficult to see despite the light).

The whole thing really creeps my wife out and my friends......and apparently you guys. I just try to not think about it much.

Now here's where i creep you all out....I was talking with some middle school kids about two weeks ago relating to some urban legend called "the slender man". When they were telling me about it......let's just say it hit close to home. A dark, tall, faceless man. In doing some research this "slender man" is just a piece of fiction by some guy named Victor Surge......but.......Surge created this fictional character based on real mythology/legends from the German and Celtic cultures.

The idea that this motherfucker could be walking around in other people's dreams and not just mine does bother me a bit.

I am German.....grandfather migrated from the old country in 1885....and the pictures/and stories of my great-great grandmother are some scary shit in and of themselves......that bitch may really have been evil.

Do everyone's dreams follow at least some semblance of a plot? My dreams tend to jump all over the place. I could be in my apartment one minute, and on a plane the next. Often there's a overarching theme to the dream (IE running from the law or something) but rarely do events unfold in a way that makes sense. Sometimes things go off on a weird tangent. Maybe I start out running from the law, but then I'm being elected president...just no consistency.

People in my dreams are often only vaguely like their real life counter-parts and faces don't seem detailed. Sometimes rather than being one person the people in my dreams will be amalgams of several people I know.

I've had dreams that I thought if I could bend the dream into some kind of consistent coherency, I could probably write a pretty cool story about the dream, but often they tend to fade from my mind rather quickly.

Often the dreams are twisted in a way that's both dark, but also odd. I had a dream where in addition to a horrible thing happening to Harry Potter (whom I'm not a huge fan of but have nothing against), also featured me teaming with Betty White to fight a swarm of rabid rabbits (normal size) with only a number two pencil.

I had a dream where I looked out my window and saw battle tanks coming down the road and a battle going on outside. I then dreamed that the entire invasion was being perpetrated by an evil leprechaun named "Roger Wilco"

Just bizarre and completely out there stuff.

lol! I am convinced that men's dreams are farrrrr more out there than women's. Wow. You guys could all write horror novels.

My dream last night was that I was dating this guy in real life...and he lived down the street from me....and we were both stressed out about college finals and were just trying to coordinate our schedule so we could drive to class together. I am apparently 20 years younger in my dreams lol.

This guy is definitely not who I would imagine showing up in my dreams...but he's in the show "Girls," so I guess I understand where he came from...

I can often "glide" but it's more like ice skating and can I effortlessly go fairly fast.

At other times I can fly, but I accomplish it by holding my breath and swimming up into the air...lol. It is a slow ascent and I have very little control over my direction or control coming down.

                      • Just so you know they are not always scary, but still a little dangerous.

Last night I dreamed I went to Lakeland to see the Tigers in Spring training. While standing by the fence, some guy walked up, he was on the field, and asked if I'd like to join in the practice. I said sure, and before I knew it I was at first base fielding grounders. The guy introduced himself as Dave Bergman, and I was embarrassed having not recognized him, but remember thinking, "Why aren't you Norm Cash or Jason Thompson, or even Prince ", anyone I might recognize. Anyway, Mr Bergman told me they were going start to hit a little harder and I'll be damned if I couldn't catch a thing. Error after error until finally I booted one and it went rolling off to the left. I jumped after the ball, only to find myself jumping over the side arm rest of the recliner I was sleeping in. What a weird way to wake up. Nothing hurt but my pride.

Must be the tail. Tuck it in a bit on landing.
I long for a Lions team that is consistently competitive.

I'm not going at any tremendous speed. It's more the movement like a disc on an air hockey table when nobody is hitting it, except I can control where I'm going and I'm usually sitting, Indian-style. I can also slide down steps when standing. I just angle my feet forward and downwards.

I really enjoy those moments. They seem real.

Other times, I can jump from great heights. Often, this happens going down large staircases.

On a totally different dream topic, I've dreamed about the house I grew up in for the last 4 or 5 nights. I've had recurring dreams about it before but never so many nights in a row. It's almost always remodeled a bit. Last night, there was construction going on by my bedroom. The night before, I was working on a movie that was being shot mostly at the park and school a 1/2 block away my house but we also had crew set up in my driveway.
