More of a question. How long does it take for a player to clear waivers? I thought I would have seen Ricardo Silva added to the practice squad, but maybe he is a former Lion?

I think they already filled the practice squad before they cut Silva.

              Yes.

The PS can be churned as often as desired (with qualified bodies)

It just means SILVA is not part of the best 53 for now

                And here we are:

Detroit Lions re-sign Ricardo Silva to practice squad; release Ross Weaver

ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions have re-signed Ricardo Silva to the practice squad, releasing former Michigan State cornerback Ross Weaver.

The Lions released Silva on Monday after signing veteran cornerback Drayton Florence.

A 6-foot-3, 225-pound safety, Silva signed as an undrafted free agent out of Hampton in 2011. After intercepting two passes during the preseason last year, the Lions signed him to the practice squad.

Silva was activated to the team's active roster late last season, appearing in four games, but working exclusively on special teams.

In the preseason this year, Silva didn't make the same splash plays he did as a rookie, but played with more consistency.

"He's a very hard worker," coach Jim Schwartz said during the preseason. "He's always made plays when we put him on the field, but I think he's taken a big step in his just general knowledge of defense and special teams. He's improving."

As much I have love for my Spartans (Weaver) is was the right move. Silva has some game in my uneducated opinion.

Williams being as invisible as he was once he left the lions was a surprise to all.
