Bobby Carpenter released by the Pats.
"Well, that wasn't pretty, but it was beautiful,'' Lions coach Jim Schwartz said.

Carp shall always be remembered for his pick 6 against Tony Romo that helped the Lions comeback against Dallas last year.

Getting cut by the Patriots isn't a death sentence for your career. Lots of former pats end up on different teams.

                The write up was correct

                Patriots released LB Bobby Carpenter.

The Patriots' purge of veterans they signed in the offseason continues unabated. Carpenter's cut comes as a big surprise, as he was projected in most corners to be the Pats' top reserve linebacker. Carpenter has been an ineffective player for years, however, and holds little value outside of coverage and special teams. His release means more snaps for Tracy White and Mike Rivera. Goodman always seemed underappreciated to me, but still, hardly a gamebreaker.

I believe he went into training to kick Millens ass after Millen called him a faggot but, got knocked out in his first bout.

So Cal and I would run into his parents at the local sports bar back in the day.

                          Nice people

pands im not sure there has ever been a lion that left the roster since 1988 (my first official lion fan year) that could be considered a game breaker.

                          MATT PRATER-K

Is now a franchise kicker for DEN. Hes about the most successful one i can think of that is an active, ex lion.

I was just thinking the cut of Fluellen drops another of Millen's draft picks.

Who is left? Backup, Rollover, Gosder and Avril?
