Because he doesn't want to upset anyone (he is a really nice guy after all), but wasn't seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. He had to decide if the pain was worth fighting another year, and decided no.

If the Lions were on the cusp, you better damn well believe that answer would have been yes.

I know you want to believe this is the year, but Calvin clearly didn't think so.

Sean Payton’s confident Reggie Bush is going to return, somewhere

But while New Orleans coach Sean Payton is sure his former running back will be back in the league this year, it won’t be with his team.
Payton said during an interview on the “Rich Eisen Show” that he and Bush met for dinner last offseason in Los Angeles, but the Saints couldn’t strike a deal and added C.J. Spiller instead.
“It almost happened a year ago,” Payton said, via the New Orleans Times-Picayune. “We actually had dinner out here. It got close and never finalized itself. I’m sure he’s going to play this year.”
Payton said he didn’t think the Saints had room for Bush now, given recent additions.
Behind starter Mark Ingram, the Saints have oft-injured Spiller, reclamation project Tim Hightower, journeyman Travaris Cadet and a pair of seventh-round picks in Marcus Murphy and Daniel Lasco.
Bush remains a free agent, after tearing his ACL last year with the 49ers, when he slipped on the concrete outside the turf in St. Louis. The 10-year veteran played his first five years with the Saints. He’s said he has no intention to retire, and that he feels healthy now.

Stanley Wilson II charged with spitting at a campus police officer

Getty ImagesThe former NFL player who was shot while attempting to enter a home naked has a separate legal issue.
According to KATU.com, Stanley Wilson II was indicted earlier this week for spitting at an Oregon Health & Sciences University safety officer.
Details regarding the circumstances surrounding the alleged spitting weren’t provided. Regardless, Wilson faces a charge of aggravated harassment and disorderly conduct because of it.
He also faces burglary and trespassing charges arising from a string of break-ins that occurred before Wilson opted to break into the house of a homeowner who opted to use a gun to defend himself. The homeowner won’t be charged for the shooting.

Rodgers calls Suh the NFL’s most terrifying defensive player

APPackers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is glad to see Ndamukong Suh out of the NFC North and in Miami.
Rodgers was [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjYcaCzo7UU&feature=youtu.be"]asked by Bill Simmons[/ame] to name the NFL’s most terrifying defensive player, and he didn’t hesitate before answering that it’s Suh, whom Rodgers saw twice a year when Suh was playing for the Lions.
“One of the most dominant players, still,” Rodgers said.
Rodgers then referenced the 2014 incident in which Suh stepped on Rodgers’ leg. Suh claimed afterward that it was so cold at Lambeau Field that he couldn’t feel his feet and didn’t realize he was stepping on Rodgers, a claim the NFL’s appeals officer said he didn’t believe.
“You’ve got to worry about him stepping on your calf. His feet were a little cold, though, so I can’t hold that against him. He couldn’t feel his feet,” Rodgers said sarcastically.
The Dolphins and Packers don’t meet again until 2018, so Rodgers doesn’t have to fear Suh stepping on him any time soon.
