BTW, I like (liked) Charlie Batch. He was pretty solid and was a gritty player. If he wasn't made of glass I think he would have been a pretty good QB-the best that we had seen in a Lions uniform over the past 20 years or so, but once he got banged up and the Lions dumped him, his years as "a starter in this league" were over.
What Batch should have ben was thr bridge QB while the Lions were completely rebuilt with a young core. Instead resources were given up to get a less talented system QB and aging free agentswere brought in to fill out a shitty roster.

No hope. No future. No problem.
Ty Detmer didn't bring hope ?
The only logical explanation is:
I'm about to die and this is my Jacob's Ladder
Broyles game isn't speed, as much as it is cutting and crisp route running. Hopefully he can come back from this.
There was an article in yesterday's free press about how Shawn Jefferson (WR coach) see's him as the 'black Wes Welker'... Welker has had knee injuries also and he's still effective, so there's hope to be had.
