  • Can't sleep...searching history

I can't believe 11 years have already whizzed by since this simple little riffy surf reggae song hit the airwaves.

Lots of great versions of this song but this SF show, compliments of a C suite executives son/friends, really holds up FOR ME.

    • Ventured in darkest Swindon onTuesday night to see these live, one of the best gigs I've been too in a few years. Terribly underrated band.

            • Bruces rare rendition (for a video game) gave me goosebumps a couple of times after the half way mark to late in the song.
              ??????
Different versions for sure with their own pros and cons with the original definitely forever holding court.

I have it favorited for now on YT until I get tired (if ever) of it.

              • Curious to know, when you saw the Scorps back in the 80s, did they play The Zoo? Mass crowd participation?

I seriously do not recall (a lot from that day) but they apparently played it. Check out this wicked set list...

I would assume with that many of us there that mass participation took place with all of their songs, including (maybe more so) during the ballads.

                    • Just walked in front door...., sung out loud, "Make it Real, not Fanta-seeeeee!'
Wife: "OH, who was that again?'

WHAT a setlist! Almost exactly the same as 84's World Wide Live. And Coast to Coast is probably my favourite all time instrumental. Certainly Top 3.

                          • The End (originally by The Doors)

This is the end, my one time football fan friends
This is the end, my old friends, the end
Of our elaborate football dynasty plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes, again

Can you picture what will be, so limitless and free
Desperately in need, of some, stranger's hand
                            In a, desperate land

Lost in a NFL landscape of waste
And all the fans are insane, all the fans are insane
No longer waiting for the summer kick off, nah
There's danger on the edge of a stadium
Ride the Kings scripted highway, baby
Weird scenes inside the fools gold mine
                            Ride the highway west, baby
Ride the jake, ride the jake
To the cellar, the ancient sports cellar, baby
The jake is long, sixteen games

Ride the jake, he's old, and his skin is cold
The west is the best, the west is the best

                            Driver, where you taken us?

The disinterested fan awoke before dawn, he put his worn cleats on
He took a different helmet from the man cave
And he walked on down the hall

He went into the room where his sister lived, and, then he
Paid a visit to his brother, and then he
He walked on down the hall, and
And he came to a door, and he looked inside
Father, yes son, I want to kill you
Mother, I want to, oh oh yeah

C'mon baby, the days are over in taking a chance with them

And meet me at the back of the Honolulu blue bus
Doin' a Honolulu blue rock, on a Honolulu blue bus
Doin' a Honolulu blue rock, c'mon, yeah

                            But you'll never follow me
The end of laughter and soft lies
The end of nights we tried to die
