As a kid Eddie Cochran was someone who I grew up musically with. He was played loads by my Mum, incredibly talented, and died at only 21, but so influential (McCartney/Townsend and Bolan to name a few). He pioneered something to do with the strings of a guitar too (I looked it up, unwound 3rd String??). I'm going to see if my son (when he's done his guitar exam next month) can learn play a few bars of one of the songs for my mums birthday in July.
